i had a bad slip and it was completely unfilled in january and i had it taken out in april then revised on july 1st. I gained 28lbs in that time. but to be honest i didn't eat that well. it was nice to be able to eat lol so i enjoyed it because i knew i was having surgery soon. and since july 1st im down 22lbs.

I'm about 8 months out and have only lost 37 lbs. It's definitely different from the band you have to work ALOT more with the sleeve. The restriction is different as you don't get stuck which makes you stop eating. You kinda have to stop yourself. I as well lost a lot with the band oover 100 lbs I know it's frustrating but keep trying you will figure out what works for you.

I personally feel they shouldn't have to stop because you have a hard time with those items. That's not there fault I could understand if it was your husband who is always trying to bring crap around. But really other people at work have there own choices. I know it may be hard but you just have to stick your ground and not pick up that candy. The end picture is much better then that candy. Good luck.

Ever doctor is different for what they want you to be. I was 180 when I had my Tummy Tuck and breast augmentation. And im now 155 not because of those surgeries but because I kept losing after I probably should have waited a little longer. But if you want to be 175 then your pretty close id say your ready.

I'm hope that someone can help answer this question. Can the plastic surgeon determine what your weight should be when you have surgery or maybe by looking at you that you don't need to lose any more weight? I have read a post somewhere on here that the surgeon wanted them to be at a certain fat %. It may have been because they wanted procedures to transfer fat to another location though. The procedures I want are a neck lift, breast lift, arms, and Tummy Tuck (or LBL, not sure yet). I'm 5'11" and 181. I did a body analysis and my lean body weight is 133. The lowest I can remember ever being was 155. My goal weight is 175, but it was just an arbitrary number I decided on, it was not given to me by a doctor. I've been stuck and bouncing around the lower 180's since September. I've been running a lot and really having a hard time balancing my need to eat enough for energy to run and the amount I need to eat to lose 6 pounds to get to goal weight.

Heading to Eagle Pass, Texas today and am having revision tomorrow. Dr. Alvarez says there is a 50/50 chance we'll be able to do it in one surgery. Depends on what he sees once he gets in there.
Excited ! Think I may play a little poker tonight at the casino there, in celebration of my surgery...

I gained a total of 28lbs from the time I was completely unfilled to the time I got sleeved. I had to do my surgery in two steps like how you surgeon does it. The recovery for the removal was SO easy at least for me I was back to my normal self that evening.

It's been an exercise in frustration, vomiting, regurgitating and doctor's visits. I have had it prolapse and then replaced. Initially lost 60 lbs, but after the prolapse, weight keeping coming back, even w/the vomiting. In an effort to protect my stomach and esophagus my dr decided to unfilled me, which then led to additional weight gain..
Bottom line, band has not been successful for me nor have I been successful with it. Regardless, I need to have it removed. Why keep this foreign object in me if it is doing me no good?

thank you everyone for you kind comments and thoughts everything with the sleeve has gone well I'm 14 days out and down 22lbs so far so good. Im not on full solids yet i dont start that until august 1st. but im never really hungry.

Hello im doing wonderful. I have lost 22lbs in 14 days. im feeling great and never really hungry. im weighting in at 170 today and when i had my band removed i was 164 so im almost there so far so good. thank you for asking

I am having problems with things getting stuck in my chest, is that normal or have I had a slip? I have not had my first fill yet.

Best wishes Hynita! I am sure you will be just as successful with the sleeve as you have been with the band. As you know it is a lifestyle change and it appears from your weight loss, you have already learned a few things!

Hello! I just came across you post and I can relate. I had my band in Jan. 2010 and in July 2012 had the port fixed due to it flipping. After that surgery everything went down hill but my weight. After 7 months of failed fills, trying to convince my doctor and a very painful port site that never healed right (I think scar tissue was the problem and he put it where my belt line lies) there is something wrong and almost all my weight gained back, I finally switched surgeons whom I just love and had the sleeve. I love the sleeve. It keeps me from eating to much, after a couple of bites of something, I am so done. I get my liquids in easily and walk each day. No gyms for me. Nothing wrong with gyms, but to expensive for me and I love to walk. The sleeve is saving my life. I had it done May 1 and down 40 pounds already. That's just by living normal day by day. No diet to follow, I just changed my eating habits and live by them everyday. I see a fast food commercial on TV and I feel like getting sick. So if I read correctly, you would have it done by now. Please share how it went and how you are doing. This site motivates me and allows me to be honest and open. We have all walked in each others shoes in one way or another. I had an emergency surgery on Tues to put my band back in place..goin into surgery the dr didnt know if he had to take it out r able to reposition it...well i was able to keep it...my slip issues involved not able to drink or eat and pain in my back and chest..it had gotten so bad that i dehydrated myself so if i think u r slipped go to the dr the early u catch the better chance on repair then losing it...
