Post surgery full liquids.
I didn't have any trouble drinking either. You can have as much as you want through the day and evening, but you are supposed to stop at 2-4 oz and take a break before having more, until you are more healed.

Back Pain after eating
Yep, that's exactly what happened to me. It caused me extra time in the hospital, which stinks cause I have lousy insurance.

Gallbladder issues and surgery
Tiffy is going to do great. After everything you have been through, this will be nothing.

Gallbladder issues and surgery
Tiffy for me, I didn't feel any pain the day of surgery, or the next day. I was surprised when I woke up the third day and it was the most uncomfortable. That lasted about a week. Just thought you might appreciate a little warning that I thought I was home free with no pain the first two days and got a little surprise day 3.

Favorite Home soft food.
I liked cooking ground turkey, adding a little bit of taco seasoning (I don't like it really spicy) mixing in sour cream and cheddar cheese. Another favorite of mine is Greek yogurt. If you don't get the flavored kind, you can mix in sugar free Jello or sf syrups, with a little splenda or stevia. Greek yogurt has double the Protein of other yogurts and half the carbs.

Back Pain after eating
That is weird Tiffy. Everyone I know who has had gall bladder pain had it on the right side, not left. Cajun said her gall bladder is already out , I think!

Surgery Recovery Sucks!
sorry to hear you had so much pain. I had none at all so it's so different for everybody. If you can walk around a lot, that should get rid of the shoulder pain. People get shoulder pain from the gas they use during surgery.

Is anyone on antidepressant medication since the surgery?
It's definitely an anti depressant. You can look it up online. A lot of depressed people have trouble sleeping so it's a good one for those people. That is why my dr. prescribed it for me, but I didn't like the way it increased my appetite.

Back Pain after eating
sometimes it's really hard to remember to eat slowly. I hate when I forget cause the consequences are not pretty. I felt really sorry for the guy sitting next to me on the plane on my last trip back from AZ. I had eaten really quickly to get on the plane , and then the "keep seat belt on" sign was on forever. I am sure I disgusted the poor young man.

Article - Importance of Vitamins/Supplements post-op VSG
Yeah, I did read that. I like prunes too! I need to eat more of them.

Article - Importance of Vitamins/Supplements post-op VSG
it's so tricky timing all of this. It drives me nuts. I found out I am anemic and my calcium was low even though I have been taking calcium right from the start. The pharmacist told me to take the Iron with orange juice, which gives me heart burn, but I can't take my PPI anywhere close to taking the iron. Sometimes it's a toss up between taking my iron or taking my calcium. Like I said, it drives me nuts. I have been trying to eat more foods that are high in iron. It's good to know avocados are on that list. I love them! Thanks Tiffy for posting that article. It was interesting!

Gallbladder issues and surgery
Tiffy I hope you read this before you go in to see the dr. tomorrow. Since it hasn't been that long ago that I had gb surgery, I know what you're going through. Once you get it out and are healed, you'll be able to eat better and feel better. I'm glad you updated us. You are in my thoughts and prayers too.

Back Pain after eating
I have had H Pylori and that's why I got confused when I had gall bladder pain. The pain was in the same place, on my right side, under my boobs. It did go through to the back, but that's not between the shoulder blades. It was to the right.

Anybody have a leak?
When I saw my band surgeon, I told him my ins. would not cover anything band related, and they coded it for heartburn, which was what I saw him for. My ins. paid the office call.

Is anyone on antidepressant medication since the surgery?
I really do hope they find some answers for you soon Lan. I really think the Remeron will help you with your appetite. That really is a side effect from this medication- an increase in appetite. Please keep us posted on how you are doing. I don't understand how this surgery could have caused these problems for you. Have you seen your bariatric surgeon to ask if this has happened with any of his other patients?

Weird ?
Most people talk about the blue diarrhea. It's so strange, but really common.

Back Pain after eating
Tiffy had weird pain when they decided it was her gall bladder. My pain was just textbook, on the right side. I believe Tiffy said hers was by her collarbone. I am not sure about back pain. Hope you get it figured out!

Chronic Constipation
I need to look on my bottle to see how much Iron I am taking. One of the causes of hair loss is anemia so I definitely don't want to quit taking the iron even though I hate taking it. I've lost a lot of hair. It's so tricky getting everything right. Iron can't be taken within 2 hours of the acid reducer because Iron needs acid to metabolize. Also calcium needs to be taken 2 hours after the acid reducer or the calcium won't be metabolized. Some people have to drink Miralax every day. Miralax just adds Water to the right places. It's not a stimulant laxative.

What is everyone's exercise routine? New and long timers
It's a blast. It's Latin dancing and whatever else the instructors choreograph. Going on Utube to watch it is a good idea. They are allowed to do 70% Zumba songs and 30% instructors choice of songs..

I cheated... i feel so horrible
Hershey, that is a very harsh preop diet and you are to be commended for doing a good job! That's a long time to be on a preop diet so strict. You can do it. We are all pulling for you!

Observations...5 Days Out
I did get pancreatitis from my gall bladder needing to come out. The only way to cure it was nothing by mouth. I was on an IV for fluids, but I was without food for 5 days and I was not hungry once. gotta love that sleeve!
