  1. What in the heck happened? I had tomato Soup for lunch today. It was this soup I had left over from band surgery that I bought from my dr. so it had 20 grams of Protein in it. It was good. I think I will go there and buy some more. It's not particularly thick. It's pretty much the same consistency of what I have been drinking on clears. But! It was only 1 cup. 8oz. I was so full I could not drink Water until almost 4:00. I felt like I had eaten turkey dinner and gone back for seconds. Why is this? I have been drinking 8 oz clears for 10 days now and never felt full like this. Maybe I am finally starting to feel like I have a sleeve.
  2. yay! Our little sleeve neighborhood here at LBT is growing by leaps and bounds. I am happy for you. congratulations!
  3. Don't forget that men are visual creatures. They may still love you when you have put on weight, but they really can't help themselves that they find you more appealing when you suddenly start to look hot to them again. I am not saying it's right, but it seems to be human nature with men.
  4. Let the doctor be the judge of how much to remove. If you were able to eat okay where you were before this last fill, then that's probably where you need to be. When you throw up, things swell up inside. People are supposed to go on liquids for 24 hours after an episode of throwing up. It's possible that you are eating too fast, taking too big of bites and not chewing enough. You need to chew your food until it's liquid in your mouth. They say to take a bite the size of a pencil eraser. The band can help you forget about food, with the right fill. When you have the right fill, chew correctly, take small bites and wait in between bites, you will get full on a small amount of food and stay full for several hours. You will be full enough that thinking of food doesn't even sound appetizing.
  5. I am glad you had a nice experience going out to eat with your friends. It's important that our lives don't change so much just because of the surgery.
  6. Well TMI, but I hadn't gone potty in a few days. Maybe there was just a lot to come out. It was too nasty for words.
  7. It was really horrible. Now I am afraid to add milk to anything. I haven't had any trouble with my Protein drinks but now I am afraid to move off them and do the full liquids. It seems like there is milk or milk products when I read labels in a lot of things. I have never had such horrible gas pains in my entire life!
  8. I did not know that oatmeal was a full liquid. I thought it was a mushie. I used weight control oatmeal and made it very watery by adding milk to it but now I am afraid of milk. I love that soy slender you recommended. I am glad I have Susan and you to guide me through these post op food phases. Thank You!
  9. Your surgery was about a month before mine. Good luck and I hope you have continued sucess! What kind of post op diet did you have to do?
  10. Thanks. Apparently, sleeve surgery can make us lactose intollerant for awhile. I never want to go through that again. I thought I was going to die, lol.
  11. Does anyone know about this lactose intolerance business? Does it follow through with the yogurts? I had some cream of potato Soup when I went out to lunch with my daughter. I felt like it was the only thing on the menu I could have. I spit the potatoes out. I have been so sick with painful gas and diarrhea, I couldn't even believe it. I finally remembered I had some anti diarrhea pills. Now I am afraid to have anything milk based.
  12. I ate some cream of potato soup and spit out the potatoes.Whatever they made the cream of part out of, I had a really bad reaction. It must be the lactose intolerance people have been talking about. I have been full of gas, and sorry if it's TMI, I have been in the bathroom for hours. I finally remembered to take an anti diarrhea pill. HOnestly, I don't ever remember being this sick.
  13. All I know is now that I am on full liquids, that gnawing feeling is gone, thank goodness.
  14. I am so glad you started posting here Deb. Everyone here is wonderful, and most of us went to Dr. A. You have come to the right place.
  15. I am using GNC brand unflavored protein powder. I have the Whey Gourmet peanut butter and chocolate and I like that. WasA told me that the protein powder gets lumpy if it gets warm. I could go to my Dr.'s office and buy some protein soup. I went out to lunch with my daughter today and have been sick ever since. I thought I could have soup but the only soup they had was cream of potato. I spit the potatoes out but whatever the cream of part was made out of, apparently made me sick . It must be that lactose intolerance you are all speaking of. I have had horrible gas pains that are doubling me over. I am passing gas but not nearly enough compared to all the rumbling that's going on in my abdomen. I am going to stick with protein shakes for now. I bought some of that soy slender Elizabeth talked about and it's good. I made a protein shake out of that with the peanut butter/choc. and it was good.
  16. There is no dumping with the sleeve. You have a smaller stomach made out of the part of the stomach that isn't stretchy. People think having their stomach made smaller is drastic. But that is exactly what they are trying to achieve by wrapping a piece of silicone their stomach. The thing is, some stomachs won't tolerate it at all, and some will only tolerate it for a period of time. I like to think of it as wrapping a tight rubber band around my finger and seening how it feels after a period of time.
  17. So what does hunger feel like to you?
  18. is there any way to get protein into the broth? I was told if you mix protein powder in it, it will curdle or get lumpy. I want to low calorie soups!
  19. My stomach feels exactly the way it has always felt right before lunch time. I can remember in H.S. waiting for my lunch hour .My stoamch growled then and now right before 12 pm. It felt like hunger to me. It feels the same way it did about 5 pm every day-Thats the way hunger feels to me.
  20. Susan, I am asking you the same thing I asked Elizabeth. What did you eat on full liquids? I know I can have soup but most of them are such high caloried and not much protein. Do you have any suggestions for full liquids?
  21. Elizabeth, what can I have on full liquids? I know I can have thicker protein shakes. Is yogurt a mushie or a full liquid? Also can you recommend some low calorie soups or recommend anything I haven't mentioned here? thank you.
  22. I had the lap band and had revision to a sleeve. Before you make your decision, read the complications section of this board. You can also read the stories of why people got revision to a sleeve on the sleeve section of the board. The band can slip, erode, the port can flip, some people do not have good weight loss with the band, some people get horrible reflux, some people can't seem to get the right fill. that means a lot of fills and unfills. With the sleeve, they make you a smaller stomach and you have restriction right from surgery. It's a big decision so you should know everything there is to know about all weight loss surgeries.
  23. People say that your taste changes after you have surgery and not to stock up on too much stuff. I bought unflavored GNC Why Protein powder and I mix it with all sorts of sf stuff. Most people hate Isopure but I didn't find it too bad. At $4 a bottle though, I was looking for a cheaper alternative. Dr. Aceves told me that the hair loss comes from lack of Zinc. That's the first I have heard of that one. I have always been told to take Biotin and up my protein. I need to remember to get some Zinc next time I am out.
  24. I stayed in the hospital for 3 nights. I had surgery on a Wed. and I went back to work on Tuesday. I could have easily gone back to work on Monday but I thought I might as well take a day off.
  25. No kidding. Thank God for LBT! Thank you Alex!
