  1. You know, I hated exercising when I started it 5 years ago. I did it because I really wanted to lose weight. I was already in the habit when I got my band. I found over time, I felt so much better when I was done, that I was able to talk myself into going every morning. Some mornings I would think " I just don't want to go" But then I remembered how good I feel when I am done.I started not letting those thoughts go to far. It was just my routine, to get up in the morning and put my gym clothes on. Now, I am really resentful when anything interferes with my gym time. I learned to love weight training when I started seeing muscles where there used to be flab. One day a guy at the gym asked me how I got my legs so toned. I was so shocked that anyone would say that to me.
  2. The sleeve section is going pretty strong. I am pretty sure that it will all be moved over to the new sleeve board. He's doing an RNY board too,as well as a revision board.
  3. Right, but he has never seen me since I was banded. Last time he saw me I was a size 24 and I am a 12 now. I got the revision because I hated the band, not to lose weight.By the time I see him, I will have lost everything I gained back when I had to get an unfill. I gained 15 and I have already lost most of it. He's going to have a hard time believing I am dieting, as little as I will be able to eat with a sleeve, that I am on that strict of a diet. I am just going to tell him I already ate since we will be staying at different places.
  4. Yes, it feels fabulous. It doesn't really even bother me to watch my bf sit and eat. I just don't feel like eating. Like I said, I don't know what I am going to do when my brother expects me to go out to eat with him. I really encouraged him to only go for the weekend so I don't have to deal with it for long.
  5. Alex is starting some other board for the other wls. I don't think he'll be keeping the other wls on this board for much longer, but I could be wrong.
  6. The first few days were hard. I was not in pain but being on the clears was just not satisfying. Now it's a breeze. I have to go back to AZ on the 27th of May and I am already wondering how I am going to get out of eating when I am around my brother.
  7. Also for a better lack of place to put this, I have lost 13 lbs in just over 2 weeks. It's great now. I have no desire to eat. I can move to mushies soon but I am perfectly content with my protein shakes. It's WAY better than clear liquid. Besides, I have all this protein powder I bought I need to use up.
  8. I get really depressed if I don't go to the gym. I do it more for my mental health these days.
  9. I have never needed it. I brought home what they gave me, and have never used it. I also haven't had any acid problems and have a hard time remembering to take my nexium.
  10. So is there an airport in Calixico and can Ernesto pick you up there or somewhere else in Calixico if it's more convenient for the patient?
  11. If you're looking for fruity then go for Isopure. That collagen Protein is really bad news.
  12. That picture was gross!
  13. Come over to the sleeve section of the board and read all the stories of why there are so many of us getting revision surgery from band to sleeve. You are welcome to send me a private message and I would be happy to answer any and all questions you may have. :grouphug:
  14. That is exactly why I got a revision surgery to a sleeve. A sleeve is like a bypass but you don't have the malabsorption issues like you do with a gastric bypass.
  15. I have bladder problems too so I wish they would start putting it in things. So many things have aspertame and that stuff is poison for me and splenda gives me gas!
  16. Be prepared to be constiapted when you've had your band awhile. If you do a thread search, there are many threads started about constipation. It's that Protein first thing. It's hard to get the Fiber in that we all need once you have a good fill. A lot of people can't tolerate anything with skins on them, like most fruit and certian veggies once you get good restriction. Miralax is a wonderful thing! Okay, I'll leave your May thread now! :grouphug:
  17. WasA is the expert on this since she goes back and forth all the time. I am sure calling would give you the right answer quickly. I am anxious to hear the answer. Now you have me curious. I don't see why Ernesto would not be able to pick you up somewhere in Calixico, since he has to drive right through there from San Diego. That's where they cross the border.
  18. That's why I said you need a slight unfill. you're right, it is a very fine line between too much and too little. Right now, you're at too much. If you weren't you would be able to eat solid protein. You can't believe how much of a difference have a slight amount taken out will do. I am talking like .25. Believe me, I have been through this!
  19. Sounds like she didn't sew it down right to me but what do I know. I am not a band surgeon. WasA puked for a year and her band never slipped. Puking is what is supposed to cause slips. Why didn't hers slip then? Probably because she had an excellent surgeon!
  20. Go to the food section of this board. There are all sorts of suggestions for all food stages. It should be a big help.
  21. It's so funny that we are all one right after the other. The only two that were there at the same time were Elizabeth and Susan. Too bad more of us weren't there together! I was so bored in that hospital room. It would have been nice to have someone to talk to!
  22. It's true. The band does have a mind of it's own. There are so many things that can cause it to get tighter. Most people do complain about being too tight in the morning, and tighter during their period. I never had either of those two problems, but sure did if I did not chew well enough! I am glad I am done with all of it.
  23. That is a recipe for disaster. Anything going down totally not chewed is going to get stuck.
  24. yeah, I have tried Lunesta and it does not work for me. I wake up in 2-3 hours with it, or I can't fall asleep at all. I was really thankful when Ambien went generic.
  25. I do not agree with your dr. The band is meant to work with hard protein. You sound too tight to me. If I were you, I would get a slight unfill. Even having the smallest amount of saline taken out can make a huge difference. It is NOT normal to be able to eat a minimal amount of real food!
