  1. I think it is time for you to sit down and make a clear and concise list of the reasons you want to have VSG and the reasons why you know other methods such as medicine will not help you. Mike it plain and clear so the doctor can look at it quickly. Then after she has read it look in her eyes and tell her there are just some components to weight loss that science has not figured out and that while you appreciate her abilities as a doctor there are just somethings in medicine that she has to rely on patient for and those are the deep down reasons and feelings you have about your weight and and weight loss and that you appreciate her helping you to achieve success in a way you know will work for you.
  2. Congrats on being sleeved! It is typical to hit plateaus. I hear lots of folks slow down on weight loss when they first add in foods again. I did not plateau then, but at week 6 through 12 I gained 5 pounds and stuck there for 6 weeks! I was going nuts! I continued on my diet and added cardio and stayed there at 191. During that time I did loose 2 inches in my waist, so the body is moving at that time, just not on the scale! Suddenly the stall broke and I got down to 179 in no time and here I have been for another week. My nut told me that this is just typical and weight loss is more in vertical steps than a downward spiral. Things to help the body keep loosing is to up the calories a bit, drink more fluids and make sure you are getting your Essential fatty acids. ( add a little olive oil to your diet during the day)
  3. Preop I had to have Protein shakes 3 to 4 times a day. I used Premier Protein Shakes from costco and Maxx protein from The Vitamin shoppee. I was allowed to add fresh or frozen fruit to my shakes. I also used lots of sugar free pudding, that helped fill the void for me. I also had lots of sugar free pudding. For Warmth I would have hot tea, especially love Tazo tea, spiced orange and chicken broth bollion. Plain chicken stock did not do it for me at all! ( post op I used the clear chicken stock for reduced sodium properties) For the 3 days pre op that were clear liquids only,, I lived on non red Jello and protein shakes.
  4. I used a two piece with a skort. Yes the flab is there, but the 2 piec with skort helps hide things. Thank you all for the kind words.
  5. I took my Grandbabies to an indoor Water park and not only did I look good in my daughter's swim suit,, I PARTICIPATED! I climbed the tower with nets and went in one of those tubular slides with them, you know the enclosed long winding ones? Yes me, at 47 for the first time ever in my life I did not say I could not, I said I WILL and I DID! I was not self conscious the whole time or afraid of getting stuck. We spent the whole day in the water park and I have the butt burns to prove it:) oh and pics too! We followed the long day by a wonderful dinner of crab legs at Joe's Crab shack,. Swimming makes you hungry or in my case shaky weak from low blood sugar
  6. I fear that it may never go without surgery. My daugther still has it 7 months post bypass, and I don't even want to describe mine 3.5 month post op and 4 sections and a gallbladder post. It is enough to make me want to get a tummy tuck NOW!
  7. Absolutely tremendous difference! Be very proud of every pound you have lost!
  8. I am having a hard time figuring out the sizes and how they run,, where do you buy your clothes and what brand are the pants? You might try even more carbs if you really want to stop the loss.
  9. Can I ask how tall you are? I am at 182 and still in a size 16w. If you don't want to lose anymore it is time to add more carbs in the diet and snack a bit more. My doctor said our bodes usually let us know where to stop.
  10. I have never been better! No colds, no sinuses, nothing! The only thing I can attribute it to is the vitamins and exercise. Normally I get every thing that is going around!
  11. wheat thins are mine. I won't keep them in the house.
  12. First and foremost we must keep in mind that doctors are merely people whom we pay for their educated opinion. That being said, when you have a difference of opinion in regular life you don't let that stop you from doing what you believe. Take the doctor off his pedestal and go around him. Get the letter you need and if you want keep using him as your Pcp. for the rest of your health care if you jive on everything but this. Perhaps you will be the one to show teach him a thing or two. My doctor had never heard of the sleeve, he was not against either, when he sees me in a a few weeks at 100 pounds down I am sure HE WILL BE THE ONE in the learning seat.
  13. funny they don't list nutritional information. Are they at least 500 mg of calcium? I am understanding that we need 1000-1200 mg a day in split doses. It has been my expeirnece gummy any thing is low in mg.
  14. Amazing, what inspiration! I agree, you don't look like you need to go lower~
  15. Wow doesn't do it here, unreal! And you kept you boobs!
  16. I love the restriction, it is like mental re enforcement that this is the one thing that will finally work for me, this won't be a diet that fails once again. It may just be me, but I liked how little I could get in and still how little I can at 3 months. I get a sense of power and control from it,, Power and control over food for the first time in my life! My best suggestion is to look for a positive in the negative. Meaning no I can't get much in, but this is good thing and I am in charge for once! I would gladly take little sips forever if gave me the feeling I had the fist time I had to go get smaller clothes and I stood in the dressing room in tears of joy when I seen the new me in the size 18 pants down from the size 24. NOTHING LIKE THAT!
  17. Well not entirely,, I can say that compared to my daughter who had bypass the gas problem is NOT as bad. However I have had a heck of a time with constipation and having to take mirlax that produces gas in me, (as does constipation). I went to Yankee candle and got some little sprays, and I do mean little, like the size of pen and I keep one with me for those times. Not that it is all time mind you like my daughter with bypass, but there are times.
  18. Greek Yogurt has been my mainstay. So far I find that Brown Cow is the the creameast, followed by Chorbani, then Okios. If you really want to blow carbs out the Water then get the plain and mix some Torani SF syrup with it (found in the coffee isle) or some Crystal light with it. If you really want to pump up the Protein, add a scoop of unflavored protein to it.
  19. Congrats! I giggled at the nakid happy dance Cause I have done it too, or the YES! with the arm movement. My next goal, 171, down 100 pounds I have decided I am officially announcing of Facebook for all to know! ( I have been very quiet about the surgery and weight loss )
  20. cottage cheese, greek yogurt, sf choc pudding.
  21. I would recommend finding a higher Protein Drink and that will help a bit. The Jello is your answer as well as much Clear liquids you desire. Sometimes hot chicken broth can hit the spot. Each day it gets a little better on the pre op as you rid your body of carbs and the stomach gets used to the new diet. Just think, every day is one day closer to your healthy new life!
  22. Well the good news is, if you like gulping a big cold NON calorie drink , no worries in time you will be able to drink like normal. Just give it time and at the 3 month mark you won't believe how much you can gulp compared to now. Chin up!
