pre-op diet is the worst part. I was actually relieved the morning I reported to the hospital for surgery! for most of us, anyway, our hunger is suppressed for a few months, so no, we don't feel the same way after surgery. Tired, yes - but I'm exhausted after any surgery (maybe moreso with this one since we're taking in so few calories the first few weeks). But fortunately, most of us at least don't feel hungry. For about the first five months, I was never hungry and didn't give a flip about food.

    Water and Protein Intake

Protein water. I double-up on both my protein and water that way, without feeling like an overfilled balloon all day. And as others have suggested, just keep taking a mouthful of water every five minutes or so. It gets easier with time.

    Weight Loss issues.

I agree with everything said above and when I try to sleep on my side I can’t keep my bony knees together. Have to use a pillow between my knees or put 1 leg in front of the other

    December Surgery Buddies

Thanks! Thankfully it's not in our province yet, but I guess we'll wait and see how this affects everything. Yeah, I am really lucky that I've been able to have a great relationship with my surgeon! He's been really great, really upfront with everything and so helpful in getting me connected with the hospital and the various quotations. I hope you at least get good care and a great surgeon who will work with you on your op. Meanwhile, I've actually felt full - highly unusual on this dratted diet - so I'm feeling guilty that I may have cheated somewhere... (can't really think where...) Ugh! Oh to not feel hunger at all!!

    Weight Loss issues.

Buying clothes ALL THE FREAKING TIME. I'm a new convert to Goodwill and Ross Dress For Less shopping because otherwise I'll blow my income on clothing. I'm cold ALL THE FREAKING TIME. And it hurts to sit on my bony @$$ now.

Just had my first protein shake

Try other flavors. I had good luck with Premier protein powder… it’s like $22-26 on Amazon cones several different flavors… I’m lactose intolerant so I mixed mines with almond milk. It’s an acquired taste lol but so worth it… you’ll drop that weight in no time and can have your surgery and start your new life. Best of luck to you 🤗

I wouldn't worry about it. I eat more than that at a sitting 2.5 months out and I've lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks.

I think you were smart and brave for backing out if you felt that way. You just need more time to prepare and decide if and when it's right for you. It took me 20ish years from when I started thinking about surgery to when I actually had it done, and while of course now I wish I'd done it sooner, I know that I did it at the right time for me and have no regrets. Be kind to yourself and give yourself more time to decide what is right for you. You're not a failure for taking this seriously! Good luck to you! Sent from my Nokia 7.2 using BariatricPal mobile app

    stopped weight loss

every WLS group I go to... people talk about having a stall at 3ish weeks out... just be patient. You didn't gain the weight overnight, it won't come off overnight either.
