    Body Dissociation

I posted a picture on fb of myself the other day and it was next to someone who plays college football, 6'5" 338 pounds, HUGE guy. Of course I felt so tiny next to him but the reality is that at 4'11" and 185 I looked like I was fixin' to do some linebacking myself! lol I did not want to post the picture because I don't want to believe that is ME but the truth is - THAT IS ME. I don't want it to be but it is. This is me. I don't know if i have disassociated with myself or not. It will be interesting to think about what you have said and see how I feel after surgery. Oddly, when I am with my husband I don't feel like it is not me. I feel like this is me and he is okay with me. But what if I just think I think like that? LOL! Don't make me think too deeply. Congrats on your surgery and your weight lost so far! This is you and you are becoming healthier every day.

Hello! I'm 9 months post op and lost a total of 148 lbs since surgery! Starting weight 345 and current weight is 197. Super happy with my progress thus far but for the past 2 weeks I've been at a stand still at 197? Goal weight is somewhere near the 180's! I'm concerned because I don't know if I've hit my plateau at 9 months already? Any advice!?!

    2 days post op

It gets better.yes keep walking a lot. It gets rid of gas pain and I used Gas X strips.. I did not have any nausea at all. Sugar free jello and sugar free Popsicles count as water intake as well. I am 6 months post op and loving it! Sent from my D6708 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Clothing Size

I find different styles sometimes means different size. I started out 290 lbs size 24w, 3x and am now 190 and fit 18, and xlarge, went to buy nursing Uniform for work and was size large. I'm 5'5. It's just a blessing not to shop in the plus size section, even bras went from 48DD to 44DD and we won't even get into underwear sizes, which was a trial and error with sizes. 1 year out-what is your eating style?

My eating habits from a year on to now are the same - I just increased calories and carbs as I transitioned to maintenance. First veggies, then grains as I could eat more. My initial loss period was 17 long months. I do frequent small meals and snacks. I feel like it helps both my metabolism and with my feelings of satiety. I still don't really feel hunger, but the idea of needing to eat is still ingrained. I'll have breakfast, a few hours later a protein snack like a hardboiled egg, or raw nuts and cheese. Then lunch, and a few hours later another snack, maybe deli meat, jerky or roasted chickpeas. Dinner. I play nighttime snacking by ear. If I want something sweet, I might have a smoothie, a protein shake, or if my calories allow, a piece of dark chocolate. Or a string cheese. Or I might just drink water if I'm out of calories or not feeling genuine hunger. Sometimes I have to eat - I've had a low calorie day. It all depends. I'm easily maintaining my loss. I never feel deprived. I don't binge or graze. I don't feel the need to overeat at meals. This works for me. My sleeve is just too small to adhere to the classic "three large meals" that other people do, and that made me obese in the first place. I do track, though. I'm sure not to let little calories here and there add up to a big shock. Cheri

My pre-op diet allows me to have one small meal each day, so I am still eating dinner with them. My dinner is just modified. I guess I have a week to figure out how to deal with it post surgery!

This gets asked a lot and I was one of the many who wondered this as well. Yes it's common and ok. It's actually good! You can stay hydrated and get your protein and vitamins in. You will feel restriction when you eat real food. Liquids and soft foods just didn't produce any restriction for me. Your stomach may still be swollen. Mine was the same way. My energy didn't return for 8 weeks but some people get theirs back much sooner.

    Clothing Size

I think it depends on where someone carries the weight on their body and their height. I went from 289 wearing almost 24/26 to 209 wearing 16/18 and I'm 5' 5 1/2.
