    Clothing subscription services?

I've started using Eloquii's service. You actually pick out the clothes you want to rent and they send you a selection of those you picked. I did it mostly because my work clothing situation is sad right now, and I am going in 1x week again and don't want to wear jeans all the time. I also was tired of wearing old things (granted, old things I haven't worn in 17 years) and wanted to feel better about my clothing situation. I've enjoyed it - I've tried things I would never have bought, and Eloquii also lets you buy stuff you like at a deep discount. Seriously the discount is dangerous because I keep buying the cute skirts and tops because they are hella cheap. Having said that, Eloquii has a trendier profile than Avenue or Lane Bryant, so some of their items might not be things you are willing to wear, depending on comfort level. Having said that, though, I have enjoyed it and it has made me willing to try some new stuff because I am not committed to it permanently. I totally think it is worth trying one of these services, especially as you venture into new territory where you don't have any sizes in your closet and you want new stuff!

    Start to Surgery Date

Well, don't use me as the standard, but it took me almost 3 years from initial consult to surgery. I know some people, especially those that are self-pay, have done it in less than a month. Think of the delays as YOUR time to get mentally prepared. The surgery will help, but what it really takes to be successful is changing the way you eat. Especially if you have an eating disorder, this can be the hardest part.

    Frustrated

Oh girl, don’t get down on yourself! 3 weeks is still really early! My energy was so low too until I started being able to eat actual food and take my vitamins. Also, my dietitian said she didn’t care if I puréed my food in a blender or in my mouth so long as by the time I swallowed it was basically mush. This helped me soooo much because puréed food is disgusting! I was able to add in so much more food this way which helped. Just remember, it feels so long and hard but in the grand scheme of things, it’s actually such a short amount of time. 1-2 months is the hardest but you’ll get through it, I promise!

    Surgery day tomorrow

pretty normal - I've had four surgeries in my life, and I always freak out before having one. And they've always gone well!!!

    August 24!

You scar really well. Not dark or lumpy! Sorry about the numbness. What did your PS say other than possible rare unwanted outcome?

    August 24!

One week appointment went very well. I got three out of four drains removed, and potentially getting the fourth drain removed on Friday if I can keep my output below 20 each day. They took all the tape off of the incisions, which wasn’t very painful but did it feel weird. When they were taking stitches out of my bellybutton I could feel clearly that they were touching the skin on the side of my abdomen, despite the fact that that skin is now in the center of my stomach. I think I am going to need to reroute some nerves or some thing. Ha! Due to the fact that there was so much loose skin on my upper body, they ended up actually having to do an upper body lift at the same time. So my incisions run all the way from my elbows through my under arms and underneath my boobs. I am happy with this, because I had such trouble with skin spilling out in my under arm area that I really was concerned if they left any skin there what it was going to look like a postop. It’s probably going to be a longer recovery because of the additional area, but I am OK with that. Still not in any significant pain, although riding to and from the appointment and getting the tape and drains out absolutely tuckered me out for the day yesterday. I guess it’s hard to judge how much energy you have when you were spending all day and a recliner watching an old season of project runway. My left arm is still significantly swollen, and missing some feeling on the lower bottom part of my arm. Hoping that resolves once the swelling goes down, whenever that is.
