The "easy way out"? Bulls(p)it. Total bulls(p)it. It is not the easy way out. It is a TOOL that you are being given to teach yourself how to interact with food from now on. It doesn't last forever. A lot of people think "oh well you got your stomach stapled so of course you're gonna lose weight" without knowing that you can absolutely stretch that pouch out. Don't. Listen. To. Her. Mothers aren't always right. Do this for YOU, because you have an entire life to live. And when the weight is coming off you left and right and you're starting to ease back into the world, you'll have the best feeling in the world and it'll motivate you to keep going.

I have that when I eat too fast. Does eating slowly help? Did it just start or has it been going on since surgery/starting solid foods? But, it could be just from losing weight - I've had back pain since starting to lose significant weight and I've never had back pain my whole life.

    Last Supper

I didn't have a last supper, we were in a long lock-down and so going to a favourite restaurant wasn't an option. So I spent the weeks counting down to my pre-op diet baking foccacia and cakes and making lasagna and noodle stir fries. By the time the pre-op diet came around I was ready for it.

    Just for fun

They sell them on Amazon. If you brought it with you, you could be more discreet than having to ask for one. Just until you get down to not needing one. Just a thought.

I don't have sugar cravings unless I see some tasty looking treat, but I'm hungry all the time, and have been since a week after surgery. I've tried more fiber, more fat, more protein, more liquid... basically the only thing that helps me personally is to drink hot tea with milk or sugar free hot chocolate between meals (usually hot tea). If you find something that helps, please post it here so maybe I'll find something else to try!!!

    Extremely Dilated Fundus...Anyone Else?

Update! I appealed the denial, appeal was denied again, took the next step which was an external review from a 3rd party company, and they deemed the revision medically necessary so now my insurance is legally bound to uphold that decision and cover it 100%. It took a while, but I won! More excited about winning the insurance battle than I even am about the surgery, but I know it will sink in soon.

    Dumping 😭😭😭

I dump A LOT ! I have got it down to eating too much aside from when I eat something and my body says NO. You just never know what will trigger it sometimes and you will figure out the things that do for sure as you go along in the process. The first 3 or 4 months are the worst, at least it was for me. It was also harder because I could not feel anything for about 6 months during the healing process and I dont have the restriction I had with VSG. The dumping keeps me in check for sure. Good luck

I have read other threads that show this has happened before and resulted in a healthy pregnancy. Talk to your doctors - false positive are far less common than false negatives. Congratulations!

    Pregnancy and Gastric Sleeve

Hi all, I had the gastric sleeve surgery done in December and found out I was pregnant in May. I know it was advised to wait 12-18 months before getting pregnant, but I had a slip up. It’s all good news to me seeing as I never thought pregnancy would be possible at all for myself. I think like all first timers I am nervous about many things, my surgeon called me to reassure me that while it’s not ideal he is sure everything is going to be fine. I’ve lost nearly 85 pounds, but this week gained 2. Anyways, I was wondering if there are any other sleevers who have gotten pregnant and if they could tell me what their experience was like, during pregnancy and after. Will the weight come off just as easy after the baby is born?
