I’ve been taking things in stride as best I can but am rather miffed at doctors and events today so I am just going to rant even though I need to be trying to sleep. Prior to my gastric bypass surgery and gallbladder removal My gastroenterologist insisted I have a colonoscopy due to the fact that previous ct scan had shown severe narrowing of my colon and a recent ct showed possible colitis. But the colonoscopy had to wait until after my surgery. I went through three days of clear liquids and hellish prep trying to swallow the required liquids. While the nurse was great I was literally the last patient and they were already starting to close down the facility before my procedure started. I had an unusually hard time waking up from the sedation and just wanted to close my eyes but they were in a hurry to get me out, I was barely awake and told to get dressed and get in the car to go even though I was stumbling and could hardly walk. I didn’t get answers from the colonoscopy. I don’t know if endometriosis can be confused for colitis. But why would a ct scan show something but not a colonoscopy. It showed melanosis in the colon usually caused by chronic laxative use which I refuse to use laxatives on a regular basis so rarely take it. Also diverticulosis of the sigmoid colon which has been there some years now and the last doctor just said well you have to wait until you end up in the Er with an emergency to even do anything. Like ok. But no biopsy was taken of the darkened spots of my colon. And no explanation of my symptoms. My bariatric surgeon said My gastroenterologist could do the endoscopy since he is closer to where I live, and he got all my information and everything. I had previously had a balloon dilation of a very narrow stricture. They saw the stricture during this procedure (so I guess the previous dilation didn’t do anything) but my endoscopy report reads: “ge junction with mucosal tear from hiccup during dilation” I didn’t speak to the doctor, I wasn’t alert enough. He made it out like nothing to my mom. They didn’t take any biopsy from either tests. And I have a mucosal tear but not what to do about all the pain? Im just tired and frustrated. I can only manage so much when I don’t have clear answers. I have to have another procedure this time a surgery in two weeks to do with the endometriosis. Not even sure the doctor will be able to find where it is since it can be anywhere and the main reason is my ovary has to come out. All my long rambling, sorry. Has anyone had a tear happen during a balloon dilation? From what I see dilation isn’t a cure just a treatment or temporary fix. I know you don’t want the stoma too big but too small is not good either. I’ve been having spasms in my left side, crushing chest pain, nausea and difficulty with purée and other symptoms. I’m the end I just shut up and deal with it. Im not regretting RNY because with my nonexistent metabolism I would not have lost nearly 63lbs. And I knew it would take its toll on my chronic illness but so much at once has me exhausted. end of rant.

Oh gosh, I'm enraged just reading this. You are so strong to have persevered through all that crap. So impressive. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery from this point forward!

@mousecat88 hey bud OMG - you had quite the busy week!!!/year/life!!!! If it wasn't for bad luck - you'd have no luck at all!! Yeah. So strange. It is her, not you. It's like you cheated on her or left the group, or something and now "due to cheating by having surgery and taking the easy way out", you are "one of them"--the skinny bi*ches. And she now feels more self-concious about her fattitude and condition. She also doesn't WANT to change her reality. She would rather have her food comfort/drug rather than change her life and eating habits. Sorry you are experiencing that! My middle sis is highly competitive with everyone, but especially me. And although she is proud of me and compliments me often, I can see it bothers her that she is now the "heavy sister". She watches everything I put in my mouth and I can tell, she chooses smaller portions and dishes she wouldn't normally eat when we go out. Meh...you can only do you. Can't control anyone else...

I've gotten the cold shoulder from my sis-in-law. She has gained some weight in the past couple of years, and I think my weight loss has threatened her in some way. I never mention it and she is the only relative who has not commented or asked questions about how I lost weight. A couple of overweight co-workers are acting the same way. I honestly down play my weight loss, I never bring it up to anyone, and I do not believe I treat anyone any differently, but I definitely see some changes in the attitudes of others.

Congrats looly ! Keep it up ! I too finished the stall a couple days after this post (7 day stall) and I lost 7 lbs since then. Down to 373 now! Just have to stick with plan I guess

Well, I have no pain. I make sure to keep my vitamins going per my doc and per my labs. So that is SUPER important. And I KISS with food. I purposely keep to lean, simply prepared proteins: fish, shrimp, chicken, turkey, lean pork, lean beef/deer/lamb + al dente steamed veg + a small serving of healthy fat per meal. By doing that, my hunger is pretty contained and controlled. I follow this plan between 80-90% of the time now that I'm at goal in maintenance, and during WLM, I was pretty fanatical about following the KISS plan. I tried to give my lizard brain (hypothalmus) as few "hits" of opiod pleasure responses as possible so I could re-hardwire my neural pathways with regards to food.

You have been through a LOT! Physically and emotionally. Your body needs time to heal from all this trauma, so please try to not be so hard on yourself. You feel crappy. That's OK. Now just get better and heal. Your emotions will heal as your body heals. Find some fun stuff - puzzles, NetFlix binge, a good book, and hunker down and just baby yourself for a while. (But don't forget to walk!!!! You don't need a blood clot on top of all this.) You should be getting some nice weather about now so hopefully you can get out a bit and enjoy the fresh air. Hang in there!!!!

I sooo agree I have three kids who are autistic and I have to travel a half hr every 30 days per child so I make 6 round trips a month for prescriptions for kids at that all bc of drug addicts and pill abusers I think they need to punish those offenders and not everyone. I could go on and on about this subject. It's bad enough the money you pay for prescriptions let alone the gas you pay going back and forth for them. I could maybe even somewhat understand if the meds were pain meds but they are nothing but pills to help the moods with autistic children. It's an absolute shame.
