    Pre-op struggles

Hiya my surgery is the same day as yours I am not enjoying this restricted diet but am happily plodding along. Your pre-op diet is different to mine, I have a choice of 4 types I can mix and match. I can do restricted calorie, restricted carbs and portions, meal replacement or, 2 shakes & 1 meal a day. I'm allowed to mix and match as long as I keep to 800-1000 calories a day. What are you struggling with? Hunger? Boredom?

    Keto vs. No Keto

Stella, with the macros you just mentioned you are actually the poster child for "perfect" keto as it was originally defined by Dr. Atkins and Dr. Westman. LOL. Which is cool. But I don't think @heycrystal2052 wants to be that low. And that's cool too! I love the spark or awareness she had when @GreenTealael posted her screen captures. Love light bulb moments. And I bet she will do awesome and get back to losing with just recharting her food plan a little bit toward the <100 or <75g of carbs per day. Maybe even 50g of carbs would allow her to keep fats low and still give her enough carb diversity to keep her full!! Just for grins I plugged your macros in Stella and this is what it shows. Perfect "keto" or LCHF (low carb healthy fat) as I love to call it. I use the free MFP program so it only allows me 5% increments rather than 1% increments to adjust to macro targets:

    Pre-op struggles

I’m still eating 3 meals. No sugar, nothing bad , no binging but still eating 3 meals. My dr & Nutrionist haven’t put many restrictions on me so I think I’m being too lackadaisical. I’m sharing my truth because I know it will help to keep me accountable! On another note.... aren’t you sooo excited? I’ll follow you & perhaps we can keep up to date on each other’s progress progress !!! 😄 Ah yes, mine is still 3 meals a day too unless I have a shake for two of the meals. I am glad I didn't have to do 4 weeks though! I am SUPER excited I had my pre-op assessment today, MRSA swabs/bloods/ecg and saw my anaesthetist this morning. She was lovely and doing all that today just made me even more excited. Yes good idea, when we are recovering we can compare stories lol. I honestly can't wait for the 12th, my op is in the afternoon so that is going to be one very long and slow morning!

    Keto vs. No Keto

Awesome! So what are your total carbs? You got this girl!!! Yes it's the free version of MFP. But @GreenTealael may be using a different one? I'm on a desktop for mine.

    Keto vs. No Keto

You estimated that you eat over 100g carbs daily... But this sounds like an oddly high amount of carbs for just yogurt/tuna/beans/citrus. What kind of yogurt, salad dressings and sauces are you eating in addition? Ex. Chobani blueberry vs Chobani plain yogurt You may need to incorporate less of the carb dense foods (beans are carb heavy, but fiber heavy too) with salads like with 1/4 cup of beans instead of just1 cup of beans

I stopped making my lisinopril/HCTZ (blood pressure) immediately. The same for Metformin (pre-diabetes). My CPAP after a few weeks. I'm still on my benzodiazepines, anti-depressants, and pain meds (morphine). I never had to substitute a liquid form for any of my many horse pills. I took big pills right out of the gate and never had a problem. I've heard that's not the case for everyone, however, so I'd be prepared to consult with a pharmacist to find out if other forms exist and then follow up with your doctor to make changes, if necessary. My daughter is a PharmD. If you send me a list of your meds, I can ask her what other forms they come in for you.

    Is This Sleep Apnea?

One of the biggest signs is the inability to stay awake during the day. You might want to at least do an at home sleep study. I was amazed how much better I felt after I got used to the CPAP machine and was sleeping through the night.
