    Hobbies

I’m a quilter and bag maker. I am also trying to draw and paint although those skills don’t come naturally. I like shopping, meeting friends for coffee, reading magazines and playing stupid games on my ipad whilst watching TV.

    Social Anxiety

Thoughts aren't necessarily true. Fear can keep you stuck, I know this from my own anxiety. People are mostly thinking about themselves and not you so much. Sure there are exceptions. You might be surprised at your personality changes after surgery, you might find your voice and finally tell a few people to shut their pie holes - there are some that need it. And you will find you need outside approval less and less. Because you are worth it. You have settled for less because you tied your worth to your weight. Please journal about your journey - start now it really helps. Thank your body for getting you this far in life, make some plans to be kinder to it from now on. Good luck.

    Who Do You Believe?

Try measuring your improvements, like lifting more, increasing incline, etc rather than recording from an app.

How long between bites of food?

omg. i totally misread your surgery date. I just saw 06/29 and assumed it was this year...sorry about that! I find that everyone's "rules" differ from surgeon to surgeon, but are more or less in the same vein. Here is a resource you can peruse: https://www.obesitycoverage.com/the-big-gastric-bypass-diet-guide/

    Chopped Salad?

Agree with Fluffy - your sleeve is not going to like that salad at all, no matter how little the portion is.

    Who Do You Believe?

Do all of the apps take into account your weight, age & gender? The ones that do, will be more accurate.

Stomachs do relax or stretch and you will find that as time goes on you will be able to eat more. That is why it is important to establish good habits early on and to know when to stop

    Fruits and Veggies

My dietitian recommended water Mellon, berries, cantaloupes and those high in fiber while avoiding the more sugary fruits. I told her that I like cherries and she said sure, unfortunately cherries are heavy on my stomach. When eating fruits its best to eat with a protein, cottage cheese, yogurt etc. Always check with your plan of course.

Summer, beaches and a cold cold beer!!!

I would say no thank you- but I might get a differetn sort of drink if I was on vacation and I wanted to have a drink- depending how far post op I was. Beer won't ever be in my future again but I will drink again occasionally at some point farther down the road. It won't be my norm but I am sure I will.
