    1 year anniversary today

I can not believe I am at my 1 yr anniversary already. Seems just like yesterday I was getting ready to go into surgery. I have to say best decision I made. I am down 80 pounds as of today:) My family have been very supportive from the start of my journey and I am so, grateful to all of them. I could not have done it with out them. Looking to get the other 20 pounds off and I will be at my goal I set for myself. Congratulations to everyone on here to becoming a healthier you!!! HW 263 SW 249 CW 183

    October Sleever Here

Hi all! I'm new to this. A little about me. I had the LB in 2011 and then removed in 2014. When my S removed LB he prepped the area for the Sleeve. Now I have decided it was time and I've started my journey:) I live in MN but due to my employer and insurance I have to have the procedure in Kansas. So I'm doing all my prep stuff here. I have gone down to meet with Dr. Fearing once already and I have to go down 2 more times. 1 for preop and then 2nd for actual surgery. I just picked up my vitamins and will start taking them now to allow my body to get use to them. I will write more soon! Any other October Sleevers?

Thank you so much, happy to be here! That is pretty much what I expected, but at least lets me know how much work is ahead of me. Better to be prepared! Congrats on your success so far : ) Have a great day!

    bad taste in my mouth

I'm 7 weeks and still have it. From all my research it seems to be that our bodies are in ketosis. Low sugar low carb side effect.

    Fresh vegetables

I just had my my first salad a week ago and will be three months post op tomorrow. I was not a salad fanatic previously but ate them. OMG! I enjoyed it SO much. It took me two days to eat it but it was awesome! I had spring mix, baby kale greens, tomatoes, cucumber kalamata olives, pickled beets, banana peppers, bread and butter pickles, crispy onions, salad toppings, Bacon, cheese, crushed croutons, and Blue Cheese dressing. I get a couple of pieces of everything and cut it up onto the lettuce leaves. #StillAFoodie[emoji5] Sent from my XT1097 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Multivitamin and Calcium Citrate

Bariatric advantage has a new chewable for both. It looks and tastes like a starburst. The hard chalk like chewables didn't sit well.

    Early Plateau: Is something wrong?

I was the same. But I met with my doctor and she encouraged me to really listen to my body. I was trying to eat at certain common meal times...and wasn't losing weight and having major hiccups. She basically said I was overeating even though I was eating less than 800 calories. I did what she asked because I wasn't hungry it was just my habit to have lunch at 12. And, I always stopped immediately when the hiccups came and didn't try to finish it in an hour like I was doing before. Plus, I stopped trying to eat breakfast. I am always nauseous in the morning. So, I stick to coffee and have a shake mid-morning. I didn't see how a body could survive on so little calories. But that is the glory of the surgery...for a short time we can and we can capitalize on those "non-hungry" months. Happy to say since making those changes I have dropped 10 pounds. Keep the faith and listen to your body. Best of luck friend.
