Love my Band

"I Love my band"

I just want to shout it out to perfect strangers. I want to talk about it with my friends. I want to tell people I've just met. I know it's annoying. I try to keep my enthusiasm subdued. It's hard though.

I've had my band for 7 months now. I'm not really a newbie anymore. I've lost 42 pounds. That's not hugely successful when compared with all of those who lose 100 pounds in 6 months! But, I still love my band. It was the best decision I ever made for myself.

Why do I love it you ask (and I can't wait to tell you)? I love it because:

1. I don't have to diet. There is no starting a diet on Monday to only make it to Tuesday afternoon and then binge on a case of snowball cupcakes.

2. I no longer feel deprived on a regular basis. I spent many hours, many days feeling deprived when I was eating healthy. I just wanted to eat what I wanted to eat when I wanted to eat it. It was exhausting trying to not overeat every single day. I craved that over full feeling. It was only at that point that I was satisfied. That satisfaction never lasted though.

3. My stomach dysfunctions are gone. I used to stay constipated alternating with moments of sheer terror that I wouldn't make it to the bathroom in time. I used to have indigestion frequently. I used to have lots of gas and burping.

4. I'm consistently losing weight. I've lost 42 pounds in 7 months. I haven't gained more than a pound back since I got my band.

5. I can't believe I'm going to say this but it's 100% true. I eat to nourish my body more than I eat to satisfy myself. I can easily choose healthy foods now. If I have a choice between a cookie or a banana I'm more likely to choose the banana now.

So here I am shouting it out to the world. I love my band. I'm over the top excited about how it's working for me.

I love my band.
