Success Story At My One Week Weigh In

Hello Sleevers!

Yesterday was 7 days post op and I had to go to my surgeon to have my staples out, which by the way I was dreading, but, it was not painful at all!

Of course they weighed me. On May 8th, the day after surgery I weighed 192. Yesterday, Six days later, I had lost 12.3lbs! I am so excited! I do not know what the upcoming weeks will bring, but I am very happy with a 12.3 lost! I weighed 179.7, and I have not been in the 170's for a very long time! I wish all of you success in your weight loss.

Down side, I am still tired. I am having problems getting in protein and I do not see how it is possible to get in 64 ou when I can only drink maybe 2-4 ou at a time, and that takes 30-45 min! I am going to do the best that I can, but man it is hard. I hope when I am on soft foods that this is not as much of a problem.

How did you feel postop. Were you in a lot of pain? I am scared about the pain. And honestly do you ever feel hungry? That is one thing that always got me when I dieted was that nagging hunger feeling! I will hopefully be having my surgery in June. Waiting on insurance approval (going on 2 weeks now). So excited and a little scared! Any advice would be great!

P.S. Congrats on your 12 lbs!!!!! : )

Stephanie, Honestly I did not have much pain, and what I had they gave me so good meds for it. I did not have the gas pain that others talk about. I did great. AND honestly, I am not hungry...ever...Now, sometimes my stomach growls, but I am not hungry.

What I have been telling everyone is to follow the rules! If you are on a one or two week preop liquid diet, follow it! Go in with a positive attitude, and it really will help with your recovery. I know how scared you are, because I was a basket case before my surgery. Now I have to chuckle because my surgery was great, and I am private pay, which means I went to a hotel the night I had my surgery, and I did great! Now the first 24 hours is the hardest, but I found day 2 to be OK, and l slept 9 straight hours

Congrats on the weight loss. I had my surgery on the 2nd of May and I am trying hard to work in the protein and the water. I have to remind myself to eat (Drink) my meals as well. I am getting better though. I hope I am as successful as you when I weigh in on Thursday. Congrats to you again.

I'm so excited to read about your success so far!

As for the protein, try maxpro (from Max Muscle) protein powder or the like, it has 30 grams of protein per scoop, that may help you get the amount you need while also getting your fluid content in to.

Is the maxpro protein shake good? I have heard a few others mention it and was curious of the taste. So far I like the UnJury chocolate flavor, chicken soup and unflavored. I am interested in others just for a change.

Oh and by the way I am now down 23.7 pounds!!! I am so stoked.
