Cotton Mouth And Snoring

I remember having dry mouth after my nasal surgery, just as you describe. I can't recall how long it lasted, but anesthesia can really have some long-lasting effects. I had violent nightmares, as well.

More water is always a good thing. Sounds like your weight loss is reducing some obstructive tissue. Congratulations! I would suffocate without my cpap machine. Getting rid of sleep apnea is one of my greatest hopes after surgery.

From what my pre-op classes have taught me is that dry mouth is very common in post op patients, and drinking more water will help, you can also use sugar free frozen pops to suck on during the day to increase your fluid intake, although I am in pre-op status I find the protein powders/drinks make my mouth dry out so that could be a contributing factor for you as well since your probably still doing protein shakes etc. good luck to you

Mmm...hadn't thought about the protein shakes drying out my mouth. Will have to see if that is a contributing factor. Glad to hear the dry mouth is a common symptom (and hopefully will go away!).

I also have the dry mouth .So glad you husband got to loose his ear plugs so fast.
