My Protein Shake Brings All The Boys To The Yard..lol!

Well, I gotta say, Im way over choking down the nasty whey protein. There has to be something more enjoyable out there. I had a packet of the strawberry sorbet by unjury..I was not impressed. So I have been reluctant to try anything else from them. I have milk chocolate and vanilla by EAS right now. Its cheap, and meets my requirements. My husband lifts heavy weights, and this is what he has always used. During my pre op diet, i was completely satisfied with that product. strange that im not now. SOO VSG family, whats your fav flav? Is there anything you add to your shakes that makes all the difference?

Pure Protein Shakes - These are my favorite...they arent thick at all like those icky shakes, and they have tons of protein. I dont know where you live, but I can get them at a local store (Trader Joes). The vanilla tastes like egg nogg, and the chocolate is wonderful. Such a refreshing change from the protein powder, yuck! I may never go back, lol. Good luck!

I was not able to handle the protein shakes I used pre-op after surgery. I was able to find Premier Chocolate shakes from Costco. Very good.

If you do a search on Protein Shakes here on the forum, you'll find it is a highly discussed topic.

You really need to sample several and see what works for you. Talk to your NUT. Tell them what you have tried, and what you don't like about them. They may be able to steer you in the direction you need.

I hated EVERY single protein shake I tried. I spent so much money & felt miserable. I finally found UNJURY Chicken Soup which appealed to my salty cravings and added Any Whey Protein (I ordered mine through Amazon) to Carbmaster Yogurt. But a shake, kill me now!!!!!!

I know it's hard, but the liquid protein is a very short period - soon you will be getting your protein from real foods & never have to have another protein supplement unless you truly find one you enjoy.

I went to a support group and was given a sample protein packet from champion nutrition, ultramet original it is vanilla flavor. I am in love it taste like a milk shake it's not real thick but it is delicious. I originally purchased one from walmart just to try it, but it does not compare to this one. I hope you find something you like,

I used the EAS chocolate and vanilla, the COSTCO chocolate, and the muscle milk chocolate. I hated the muscle milk vanilla.

My go to protein drink though is ISOPURE PLUS, both the punch and the grape flavor. 15 grams of protein in 8 ounces of liquid. I ordered it from Amazon, as I couldn't find it in the stores.

I get my Syntrax Chocolate Truffle from Bariatric Pantry. Although I don't drink it now cause it grosses me out (post sleeve) I used to really enjoy it during my pre-op diet. My daughter loves the strawberry flavor as well.
