Less then 12 hours to go

Well less then 12 hours to go and Im scared oughta my mind. The worst thing right now is I have been reading this site for 6 months and never recall reading anyones horror story of the 10 ounces of Magnesium you must ingest and then spend the next 6 hours in the restroom in agonizing pain............For anyone who hasnt had the treat of this liquid pipe cleaner , Im warning you now  .

My dr says to have Milk of Magnesia. I'm guessing it will have a similar effect.

Wow, I didn't have to take any thing pre-op! I have taken Mag Citrate before for a colonoscopy, and Milk of Magnesium also after surgery, but didn't have to do either before my VGS. You have my sympathy. I (on my own) took two Colace capsules two days before my surgery, cause I was so constipated from the pre-op diet. And that worked pretty painlessly for me. You're in my thoughts and prayers tonight. Hopefully by now everything is OK, cause I see your post was three days ago. Hope you are well on the road to recovery from your surgery and feeling better every day!

I second Kathy's comments. At least you didn't have your surgery on July 5th! It would be tough to live with all of the "fire-cracker" jokes coming from the bathroom. OK I know you aren't supposed to laugh yet cause it hurts. Yesterday I was looking for some protein shakes in the store and I see all of this "colon cleanse" (otherwise known as butt drano) and man I thought - who would want to do that?

So - just know you have nothing to fear. All of these people around us have already done this and they survived and are helping us cope. So - you will hear from me when I am getting the "willies" the latter part of August.
