Some Things I Didnt Think About Before I Got The Surgery

So I got my first fill on Thursday and got hit by a cold on Friday. My usual response to this is to start taking 12 hour sudafed and 12 hour musinex if needed. Well that doesn't work because both of those pills are way to big for me to swallow now. I could possibly cut the musinex if half, that is still a fairly large pill that is not coated. The sudafed however I can't cut because it will mess with the extended release that makes it last for 12 hours. So I am stuck taking the 4 hour medicine. Hard to get alot of sleep when you have to take medicine every 4 hours to be able to breathe.

Oh well, I will survive. I still had some of the pain medicine from surgery that I took, it helped with the sinus pressure and helped me sleep.

i have the same problem. i used to take tyenole PM whenever i had aches and pains. now i take childrens ibuprofen and just double to dose cuz it comes in liquid form. i can still take my thyroid medication cuz it's pretty small, and just recently started some iron pills, but yeah once i took a multivitamin and it plus my entire lunch came back up. ugh never again!

LAP-BAND Patients

I've had the whole sinus and cold thing going on since Thurs. Yesterday was the worst. I took Allergra D 24 hour after cutting it up into 8 pieces and Tylenol. It said not to cut up or crush the Allergra but I was desperate. Still not feeling great today but better then yesterday. :(

An option to the pills is the kids medications, they do make it in granuales and also in liquids, you have to take more but it goes down easier, I got pneumonia the first winter after banding and I had o do the childrens doseage, my pharmacy helped me figure out how much to take, hope you feel better.

I also hate the whole pill thing, it makes getting sick a pain. I also never considered that when I got the band, but I just go with what "love" said, get childrens medicine and adjust to how much you need. I always use liquid kids medicine when I have a cold etc. You may have to take more, but it works like a charm
