My Port side is still really sore.....

I'm 4 weeks out from surgery and my port area is still really sore. I cant sleep on my side or stomach it is just to painful. I even notice that if my pants get to close and rub it is very irritating. Has anyone notices this? My husband and I were banded on the same day 1-11-11 and he doesn't have pain at his port site. I loss 12 lbs the first week and nothing since then. I started this week drinking alot more fluids to see if that may help since I know I wasn't getting in the 64 oz which is very hard since you cant drink 30 min before and after a meal......

LAP-BAND Patients

I am 3 weeks post-op and still have allot of tenderness at my port site. I still cant sleep on that side and tend to wake myself up in pain if I do. My surgeon suggested the other day that trama at the site could cause the port to actually sort of pop right out of the skin. SCAREY! To be clear though, I have a Realize band and have been told that my band is not sutured to my stomach like a LapBand would be.

In getting back to exercising, my nurse and surgeon suggest rolling the band of my sweats down to aviod any rubbing on the port site. Good luck!

LAP-BAND Patients

My port isn't painful, but it is tender. My little puppy used to walk on my stomach and sleep on it or on my side and I can't let her anymore because it is too tender. I was banded 3 months ago. I have a feeling that this is something I will have to put up with all my life. I can't stand any pushing on my stomach at all. My pants don't bother it though.
