Day four of pre-op liquid diet

This is my first blog entry. We'll see how I do from now on. I'm on day four of my liquid diet. It's not that bad. I mentally prepared myself for this. I figure that I've eat so much junk over the years, that two weeks prior to surgery is the least I can do. I've eaten more than my fair share over the years. I feel great actually.

My dr. doesn't allow any food other than sugar free jello. I'm doing Optifast. I love the convenience of it. I have 6 of them a day. I space them out about every two hours. It works really well. When I start to feel hungry, I have an Optifast and then I'm satisfied. I am SO excited about my surgery. Ten more days!!!!! I have NO reservations or concerns. I don't think that I've wanted something more. I feel that I'm mentally in a really great place. It's only been four days of liquid but I definitely think I've lost weight. My clothes are feeling bigger. I've been going to the gym and I feel great. Hopefully I'll write more tomorrow!!!

Sounds like you are ready. The mental preparedness is very important to your success and it sounds like you're there. We all wish you well - the pre-op phase is all a distant memory for me now as it will be for you. I am 5 weeks post-op today. Keep up the good work, and I'll look forward to your blogs.

I had 14 days of Optifast also...spaced mine every 2.5 to 3 hrs - and even had it if I wasn't hungry. Really helps to just get on the schedule and do it. And the poster above is SOOOooo correct....it goes by fast. :sneaky: AND I lost 17 lbs while doing it! That helps the motivation too!
