My journey begins

Ok folks the journey begins today with a visit to NJ Bariatrics to visit Dr. Wai Yip Chau.

My thoughts entering the day were something short of exictement after really doing my homework I found that not only do I need the surgery I want the surgery.

For years I have told myself that I can lose this weight, I would start a new diet but same results. I would lose then gain it back like my stomach was getting even with me or something.

So off to the doctor with my wife and a meeting with Dr. Chau.

Ok, let me tell you something about me be prepared for locks of jokes as we go through this, so I walk into the office and the first thing I noticed were chairs built for me nice and spacious with arms, lol.

Ok back to the serious stuff, Dr. Chau was great he explained all the procedures available to me and focused on answering my questions not those off of a script or some sales literature.

After the consult which lasted almost an hour off to the nutrition department and another long talk and tips.

I was listening but was really going over all the information that Dr. Chau presented me with and was still thinking how impressive the consult was.

So all is good a great consult and so the journey begins.

499 lbs BMI 78 goal weight 250

Keep me in your thoughts as I will you in mines

Hey Billy, the start is the beginning! Your story reads the same as mine and now I think of the time I wasted on all those madcap diets. My husband has been with me every step of the way and that support is great. good luck 2 you on your journey and maybe c u in the chat room here. The chairs are the greatest.

Cheers Chooky

Good luck to you! I did the same thing for 6 years and came to the realization that I was losing the battle at my body's expense. I am glad you have made the decision. Soon you will have a whole new life to look forward to. Take care.
