:(Hello all, Just had a few spare minutes to update my journal. To date I have lost a total of 44#'s. I am still going to the YMCA 3-4 times a week and I am also doing some exercising at my home. I bike ride with my son and play basketball with him. At the YMCA I am doing 10 minutes of Cardio and all 15 weight machines each day. I just added today the abdominal crunches on the mat and the standing crunches with the cross bar. I have had my first fill, but still have no restriction. I can e

I really haven't been to hungry either. My stomach growns about 4:00pm everyday, and I simply eat a small snack and it is all better. I can't wait until I get the go ahead to work on my stomach muscles.... I wanted to start yesterday at the gym, but I refrained, cause I was scared to do it.... I am go

Hello one and all bandsters. Yesterday I went to the 1 week postop appt. All went great. They removed the steri strips, all is healing well, still a little sore on the port side, but it is bareable. I have not had any pain med since 2 days after my surgery, except Ibuprophen for a headache. Yeah for me... I got the go ahead to start adding regular food slowly back into my diet. So last night for dinner I made Green bean caserole and tuna salad. I know they do not sound good together, but t
Well gang, tomorrow is one full week post op. I am feeling great, hardly no pain. I am eating well and what I am supposed too. Steri strips still attached and look to be healing just fine. The scale has stopped going down though. That is kinda of a bummer. I have lost 27.5 # since the end of May and including the preop diet, so I suppose I should't complain huh. I have a appointment with the doctor for a week post op appt. I also went out over the weekend and brought a ladies mountain bike a
Hello all it has been 3 days since I have entered band land. Wow life with the band is so great, very little pain, more energy, very little gas and diarrhea now. I have lost 26 pounds since the end of May. I can start on the full liquid today and I am going to the store with my son when he gets off the bus from school. Really looking forward to the Tomato soup. and sugar free pudding. Did you know that you can make any meal high protein, by adding carnation instant milk to it, just go by the dir

Day 7 and doing just fine, only 3 days to go before the long awaited band land. Since I found out that I was a diabetic and need to take medication for this also, I have lost 18 lbs along with the preop diet. Hope my surgeon is happy as I am. I think I found out that I was a diabetic in May of 2007. I still only eat just a little bit at each meal with the preop diet, and I am not hungry between meals Yeah!!!! The only problem that I find that I am having now is..... Cooking meals for my son a
Well gang, here it is on day 6 of the preop diet. Still alive and kicking.... Just got home from my second sleep study. I had to wear the mask last night and sleep at the hospital. It wasn't so bad I suppose. Just keep thinking mind over matter and I'll be fine. All in all I had a good night with the mask on. Now I have to get the RX and get the machine and all the equipment. WOW more money to come up with. Thats what really sucks. The preop diet is still going fairly well. Not quite so hunger n
It is now half way through day 4 on the preop liquid and limited food diet. I can say I am happy that my sugars are staying in normal range. Why should'nt they I am hardly eating that much. So far today I have had 16 oz of diet snapple, fat free cottage cheese, 2 splenda fat free yogarts, 1 splenda sugar free fudge pop, lots of ice tea and iced water. I am very fussy and tired all the time. Not sure how to get out of this funk. I have 6 days left of the diet before surgery day. It truly has
Day three on the pre op diet, not as bad as I antisipated. It is harder to stay at home and do the diet then be at work for 12 hours. Still drinking tea and atkins shakes. Vanilla is better than chocolate in my book. Gee, never thought that would come out of my mouth. I love most chocolate. I also intertwine fresh fruit and low fat cottage cheese, and fat free jello. Not to tired of any of the food yet, just get bored really easy and need to stay busy, so I stay away from all the other food w
Well I have finished my first day of my pre-op diet. I drank 2 atkins shakes and ice tea all day. I had 2 fat free jello's and a necterine and some low fat cottage cheese. I can honestly say that it was not as bad as I intisapitated. One day down and Nine days to go.... I can do this. I will have good results when I go in for surgery on Aug 20th. I will write more tomorrow night and let everyone know my menu choices for day 2. All is well so far.:car::whoo:
Just wanted to chat in my journal again. I read the first enty and forgot to state that I also had an upper and lower GI and a colonoscopy. I had my wonderful sleep study last night, and no pun intended I am more tired after having the sleep study than an average nights sleep at home.... Not to good of news on the sleep study. I was told that I had stopped breathing 100 times last night and my o2 dropped to 77%. They are to send the results to my surgeon and I am waiting for a reply to what to
Just decided to start this journal to my new life. I started this journey several months ago and have jumped through lots of hoops to make it to today. I have seen the diet person, the psycologist x2 and have taken the weird 2.5 hour test. Wow that was interesting. Went to the seminar and that was so helpful. I will be having the intense sleep study on the 8th of Aug. and the Respirarory test on the 9th of August. I have meet with my surgeon and I have one more meeting with her on the 8th of
