October 11, 2010. I have been banded for a few years now. I have lost almost 55 lbs., but most importantly, to me, is the fact I have gone from a size 22 to 14!! I had my Lap Band Surgery on Jan. 17, 2009. I, too, studied - - researched - - and studied somemore. I was upset with all of the critea needed in order to be approved for the surgery. I actually tried to qualifiy in 2003, but my insurance company denied me. I did not pursue the surgery again until Jan. 2008. It took me one year to finally be approved :thumbup:!!
