  3. So sorry for your loss. I had aspiration pneumonia also due to reflux from the band and spent a week in the hospital. It was so scary because at first they couldn't figure out what caused the pneumonia. They sent a gasteroentologist to run tests and found out what was happening. My pulmonologist told me to loosen the band because if I continued to aspirate I could end up with lung disease . I decided to unfill it completely. My BMI was low to begin with but the co-morbidities were enough for me to have surgery and the band had to be too tight to work for me. I plan on a revision to the RNY as soon as possible.
  4. I have unfilled before thanksgiving once. I just wanted to actually enjoy the holidays and I had already lost 40lbs so I thought it would be ok. I told him I was having reflux and he conceded. He didn't want to do it before I said that and he was right. I got used to being able to eat again and didn't go right back to start getting fills again. The only thing was that he took it all out instead of just loosening it a bit. I thought that was a bit extreme but he would have it no other way. I think that was his way of punishing me for my bad decision.
  5. I had aspiration pneumonia around October last year. I think it was from reflux at night, being too tight and waking up choking then some of the yuck going back down into my lungs. Aside from visiting the water parks several times last summer they couldn't find any other reason for the pneumonia. After being in the hospital for a week I was told by the gastro doc in the hospital to go have the band loosened by my bariatric doctor. I have a 10cc band with about 5.25 cc's right now. (they only took out some) I was close to 7cc's when this occured. I have regained all my weight. I had lost about 46lbs and I started off with a low bmi so that was pretty good although it could have been better(my fault). I really want to get back on track only now I am afraid to start getting fills again. The pneumonia was VERY scary for me:ohmy: I had never been that ill before.
  6. I am going this Thursday to see if I qualify for a revision. I lost about 47lbs total and have been filled and unfilled twice once for dehydration and the other for reflux. I have now gained back almost all the weight but I have been unfilled this time since November 08.
  7. I say you are just hungry so if you are hungry then you should eat what you can handle. The runs are more than likely due to the liquid diet. I tried to follow it but it didn't really last for more than three days. Everyone is different so you may be able to handle some soft foods and it will help you regain your sanity.
  8. I love it! :thumbup:The only problem is when I get on it's hard to get a full workout cause the kids are lining up wanting to get on. My mii got plump too lol. I guess I thought I was smaller than I am.:wink_smile:
  9. I love ackee and codfish w/fried plantains and fried dumplin' lol
  10. Everything has been great, I had to get unfilled b/c I was too tight and everything got irritated so I couldn't swallow. I will be re-filled in two weeks though so I get to eat on Thanksgiving!! He is great and the girls in the office are wonderful.
  11. I can vouch for that! It is great b/c you only have to take one a day which makes it an easy choice for me. I don't like taking two pills before each meal etc. Too much work!
  12. I only told a choice few and people who I don't deal with everyday I don't mind telling them. Some people just aren't happy for you so it's best to keep some things to yourself. On another note I had to be unfilled:mad: because I was too tight! I couldn't even hold down water. I was fine the night before eating steak etc. and I went and got a fill .25cc and that changed everything. I suffered for about 3 days and had to go in on Saturday and he took out 6.5cc's oof the 8.75 that I believe I had. (He couldn't fnd it all) I didn't understand why he couldn't just take out the last fill and maybe just a little more. All in all I was relieved to be able to drink ( I was so dehydrated!) I had lost 7 lbs over those few days. Most of it came back once I re-hydrated. Unless I can schedule a fill under flouro soon I will be wide open for Thanksgiving. :hungry: But I have to be careful b/c I don't want to gain anything back. The only consolation is that he said he will give me back the 6.5cc's at my next fill so I can deal with that since my fills are no longer free I thought I'd have to go back twenty times to get back where I was.:bounce:

  15. No I take it with a couple of sips of water or something, but I don't have a lot of pills to take just that and a tiny water pill for BP which I don't need when I take this b/c quickslim acts as a diuretic so I only take both when I remember maybe an hour apart.
