Had my first fill last week.. The anticipation was 1000 worse than the actual fill.. Nothing to it .. I am sooo relieved . I hate being back on the liquids, but this to will end soon.

Since being banded , I notice that I must be sitting staight up when I am eating . If I don't I have INTENSE pain..

Grandma always told me to sit like I had a broom handle stuck in the back of my shirt.. I guess she knew what she was talking about .

What is the typical eating regimen after getting a fill? How long do you have to be on liquids or mushies?

CC, (with Dr. Hart) usually after the first fill or two, it's just liquids for the rest of the day. Later fills, I'lve been on liquids for the rest of the day and the next day and mushies for a day.

Some doctors are more strict and require liquid for a week afterwards. Since I haven't had problems post-fill, of course that seems extreme to me (LOL) but that's the individual doctor's decision and I would really do what my doctor tells me, not what someone else was told to do...just so if you have a problem you can say "I did what you told me!".

I was totally scared of getting a fill. It was slightly worse than getting blood taken. Unfortunately, I barely have any restriction and the doctor said I can come back in 3 to 4 weeks for another fill. I had 3 cc's put in.

I tried fish the first day -- BIG no-no.. I am still on liquids/mushies 4 days later. I did have some mashed potatoes (very thinned )last night - but today has been Soup, Jello and Protein drink.. I don't want that kind of pain again..

Cathy, I noticed you're from Conyers, GA. I am from Atlanta. Where have you been getting your fills at - how much do you pay?

I had my first fill this week, with Dr.Johnson in Georgia. It was no bog deal a small pinch. I have another appointment in 4 weeks for another fill.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
