Can anyone give any ideas?

Recommended Posts

Ok, I have been banded since July 29, 2009. I have lost 24lbs which is good to me. I got my 3rd fill last Tuesday and since then I have only been able to eat like mushy stuff or Soup. If I eat any kind of normal food it gets stuck & ends up coming back up most of the time. I have never thrown up until this last week. I am able to keep my Protein Drinks down but it usually takes me about 30 minutes to an hour to drink them. I can eat mashed potatoes, Beans, etc and they go down fine but if there is anything that is not mushy I can't eat it. Does anyone have any ideas of some foods I might can eat b/c I am sick of mashed potatoes & refried beans. One good side to this is I have lost 4 lbs in the last week. Thanks for any help you might can give me.

It sounds like you need a wee bit of an un-fill. You should be able to eat normal food at restriction. Definitely call your doctor about this -- you don't want to damage your band!

I agree I had a small unfill 2day as I had the same as you, Im feeling much better and dinner didnt get stuck. If you dont get one you will start to eat wrong foods an put back on the lbs

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
