getting hungry!

Recommended Posts

I am 5 days out and I'm starting to get hungry and not feel full - I guess the swelling has gone down. I am only supposed to "eat" 6 ounces of liquid every 2 hours but I want the whole can of Soup - not half, and some water! At this rate I can only have 1/4 can soup and a tiny cup of Water. I am losing it! I used to drink 12-15 big bottles of water per day!

I know its hard!, I´m not really hungry at all (must be the fill), but when I´m preparing or serving food to my kids. I see it and touch it and smell it and want to eat it so bad! OMG! and I am only supposed to "eat" 2 ounces of liquid (clear) every 2 hours. So I'm living on Isopure (but I'm tired of it by now).

I find so confusing that everyone have guidelines for their diet that are sooo different, I have a friend who has to be on Clear liquids for 3 weeks! and envy your 6 ounces of Soup.< /p>

....for me in two more days full liquids:).

I am so happy to have my band and want to take excellent care of it, I know this stage will pass ...but when you are not eating time goes by so sloooooow.

But I bet we will be laughing about this soon!

Oh my goodness, drink your water! Stay hydrated, for goodness sakes! If you can get it down with no discomfort at all, then, yes, your swelling is going down and Water is certainly NOT going to be a problem for your band, your health, your weight loss, nothing.

Check with your doc just in case, but I'd imagine the guidelines for your Water are minimum consumption. If you can drink more, do it!

I go see the doc tomorrow so I will ask. I've been drinking alot more Water than 3 ounces - I just don't want to hurt my band but I need water!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
