4 Months Out & Pain When Laughing or Sneezing???

Recommended Posts

Hi:

I have a question for those of you who've had a Tummy Tuck. Did you still have some pain when you laughed hard or sneezed four months after surgery? I've done very well and haven't had any issues (except one dogear), but I am surprised that I still have pain when I sneeze or laugh hard. I don't wear a Spanx or anything that compresses, and haven't for two months. I had to switch insurance companies, so going back to the surgeon is out of question because of the cost (laid off from work in April) unless it is urgent. A little bit of pain when I laugh or sneeze is far from urgent. Please just let me know if it's normal.

Thanks for your feedback.

Sue

hi sue

i havent had pain like you describe but....i just started working out really hard last week. (ie. abs, kickboxing, etc) and my stomach is swelling alot the day after...like i'm pregnant.

i called the doctor's office and they said it is just strain due to newly working out.

my stomach underneath my skin does feel really tight like a girdle. i guess that's good because when i'm not swollen my stomach is flat. but it's weird

maybe can you call the doctor just to see if it is normal?

hope you feel better....josie

I'm 10 months out from TT and 4 months out from my TT revision. and I don't have pain when couching or sneezing. But like Josie I swell after working out. My tummy always feels really tight like a girdle also.

Thanks for your responses to my question.

Kind of "Big Brother'ish" or a coincidence, I'm not sure which. Within an hour of my posting the question I got a call from PS office. She said Dr. asked her to call me to see why I haven't been back since end of June. I told her that my insurance changed and it doesn't cover anything like this now, and I'm unemployed, so couldn't afford :redface:to come back. She told me that it would be no charge. So, I have an appointment on 10/7. I'll post then to educate others on this plastic surgery path.

Thanks again.

I love my band and my new flat tummy!

Sue

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
