Swimsuits.....my least favorite thing

Recommended Posts

Any suggestions where to get a cute suit? We leave for Florida for 2 weeks in about 5 weeks. Do I buy a suit at the size I wear now? A size smaller? Any suggestions on where to get one? I am about 198# and I am 5' 6"

You don't say where you are located but, good luck finding one! My two suggestions would be

Wait till you get to FL or try someplace like LL Bean catalog.

if you get something like this:

BeanSport Halter Top, Stripe: Swimwear at L.L.Bean

you can kinda get away with the size not being exactly right

I LOVE Lands End's suits. I recently bought a few in hopes that one would work out, but they all do! I am actually having a hard time deciding which one to send back.:w00t:

They have an "Overstock" section that has suits at pretty reduced prices. They have a Grecian suit that is gorgeous and fits beautifully. Women's All-over Control Solid Grecian V-neck Slender Swimsuit from Lands' End

(Click on the clearance priced colors for $59 price)

Also, you can get free shipping through today only with code:

SEPT1 and pin code: 00001145

Have fun on your trip!!!

Oh, yeah- about the size. I currently wear a 22/24 and I bought a size 18. It fits great with room to shrink.

Good luck!

Dillards in Fl just put their suits on sale at 70% off!!! I bought a $134 Miraclesuit for ~$40!!!! I feel like a million bucks in it! A 16 would have been perfect but I got a 14 & it fits well.

We have winter coats where the swimsuits used to be up here in the great white north!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
