Well, Ruby, you were right. They couldn't do a thing for me. They drew blood, gave me some fluids so I wouldn't get dehydrated, and told me I have to wait to see the surgeon at 10:00. Five more hours to go. I hope removing 1 cc will help. I have 4.5 in a 10cc band. I had 3.5, and that's what I need to go back to, I think. Guess it will still be a couple of days before any swelling goes down. I just want to be able to swallow again! And for this damned gurgling to stop!

It is definitely due to being tooooo tight. I have been battling with these disgusting symptoms for the last 3 weeks and very reluctant to go in and have the doctor take out some of the Fluid but I went in today and he took 1 CC out of the 7.5CC's in my band and immediately I found relief. I could actually swallow water!!! No more acid reflux symptoms all day and no more spit bombs - my husband was threatening to buy me a container that the guys that chew tobacco use......can think of the name. I was so reluctant because I thought the restriction would go away on its own but what a nightmare I put myself through!!!! Thank God for this relief!!!!!!

I think that container might be called a spitoon. Glad it didn't get that far!

I saw my surgeon today and he took out the 1 cc he put in yesterday. Things were still too tight, probably due to swelling, so I asked him to remove one more cc. Now I have 2.5 in a 10 cc band, whereas I used to have 3.5 I will go back in 9 or 10 days and he will put me back up to 3.5. I just hope I don't gain a bunch of weight in the next 10 days. The next day or two will be liquids only, though, to give my poor stomach time to rest. I had some juice on the way home and am feeling better. No more spitting into a bottle!

I am so glad you are feeling better. I was very worried for you. I have my 1st fill on the 20th. I will keep optimistic. :w00t: Take care of yourself.

I'm glad you got that taken care of. I know because I was too tight immediately after surgery.

I know it is a little late but eating ice chips got me through the night until I could get to the Dr to have some removed. Funny thing is I could drink before I left the hospital. Got home and tried to take a vicodine, for pain, and it foamed up and I spit it back. I think that caused un-necessary swelling and that is why I couldn't drink. But the ice chips helped.....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
