definitely! get ready for burping and hiccuping. That is a mainstay in my life now, lol. They do hurt when first banded, but it will get better. Try gas x strips, they will be a lifesaver, and walking will help as well.

I had terrible Constipation after being banded, it lasted over a week. I did feel much better when I was able to go. I guess it goes to show that when you are on liquids ther is nothing to come out. I have no trouble with burping, I have had the hiccups lots too.

Good luck to you!!

Bernadette

For the first 2-3 weeks after I got my band I felt this weird throbbing in my chest every few minutes. It started out like I had to burp then I'd get 2 throbs and it'd be gone. It never actually came out. As for #2 the anesthesia and narcotics constipate you. I had Constipation for about 4-5 days then once it went away I wished I was constipated again. It is true that if you're only eating liquids mainly liquid is gonna come back out.

Burping doesn't hurt for me, but I can't controll them so it can happen at the worst times, my DH understand but other who don't know I am banded kind of look at me funny, because they are long and I'm not very quiet!! :smile2::blush:

I had a serious bout of Constipation last week. I spoke to my Nut about it and she explained that our bowels are used to getting full and then voiding and depending on how much you eat (or ate) determined how frequently you went. Now we aren't eating that much so our body holds onto anything in there and causes us problems. She told me to take Colace, drink my water/liquids and walk and it should even out. I HOPE, I thought I was going to end up in the ER for relief!! lol

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
