Submitted to Insurance...waiting game!

Recommended Posts

I have BCBS of MD and submitted to insurance last Thursday!! Hoping to hear something this week. From most folks experience, how long did it take you to find out something from Insurance?

On pins and needles!!!! :wink2:

Mine is supposed to be submitted this week. I am waiting too. My surgeon said that since I had everything in order, It should only take BC/BS about 48 to 72 hours. I hope that is true. I am ready to move forward.

I hope you get approval right away. It is so hard waiting!

I am soooooo upset right now! I just called my surgeon's office just to make sure its been submitted and they tell me they are waiting on the dietation to finish her report!!!! OMG, she told me she would have it completed within a day and submit last Thursday!

I have done my part and now you tell me its been seating on her desk for almost a week!?!?! I can't stop crying....

So, call the dietician yourself....the squeeky wheel gets the attention. I bugged the living daylights out of the doctor that did my sleep study to get his report in on time to keep my scheduled surgery date.

Yeah, I've called twice today and she is booked back to back with patients. I've left several messages for her to return my call. If I don't hear anything by the end of the work day today, I am going to drive the 50 minutes tomorrow and wait until she finishes my report....I can't believe she's doing this to me.

I sure hope you hear soon. I am in the same boat. I saw my surgeon on July 16 and was told it would be submitted within a week. Today, Aug 3, I called the insurance and they have received nothing from my surgeon's office. I called the surgeon's office and did not get a call back.

Don't they have any idea what they are doing to us? I am sooooo frustrated and angry!:smile2:

Mia - The insurance process is so frustrating!! Once mine was finally submitted I got approved in 2 days - so maybe that will happen to you. I see you're in MD. Where are you having surgery?

Good luck!

I'm actually going through a surgeon's office in Virginia. Bluepoint Surgical Group.

Called insurance on Monday and the lady stated that the nurse was reviewing all my records...I guess I'm getting closer?!? How long does it take to review documents???

Very fustrating but I have began a strict diet and excercise regime to get me in the mindset of my soon to be new life style!!! I just hope I hear something this week!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
