Second day of MediTrim and I've got some wicked headaches

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

So it's Day 2 of MediTrim and I've got some wicked headaches... Like crazy. Last night I had to wake up 3 times to get Tylanol. I normally get wicked headaches instead of getting sick and stuff, but these headaches were so bad that they actually woke me up. icon_confused.gif In the past I've had headaches wake me up, maybe once a night, but never three times.

I'm going to call the office and ask her if there is anything I can do. But did anyone else ever experience this?:)

Oh no - that scares me. I haven't started my pre-op yet b/c I think my doctor only requires a week. That is one thing I worry about. I get horrible headaches and I don't need them anymore than I have too. Especially with work and I will be camping the weekend before my surgery. Yuck!!! I hope not.

Be careful with taking all that tylenol. They have just come out with warnings. Tylenol can damage your liver if you take too much. They are saying that 1000 mg at one time (2 extra strength) or more than 4000 mg/day is too much. They are going to issue new box warnings. Maybe there is something safer the doctor can give you. Are you a caffeine drinker who is now off of it? That can cause headaches. I hope you feel better.

So I talked to my clinic and she said that what I'm going through is perfectly normal. So I'm really happy about that! However my head still hurts.

Thanks for all your help!

Sincerely,

Cammy Pilon

Probably not caffeine then. I will hopefully be at the pre-op in a few months. I did a similar thing when I went into the Air Force. With a drastic change in calories your body will do all kinds of things. Headaches are common and they will pass. The first days Are very tuff but you will get to the point you aren't feeling that bad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
