Considering a tummy tuck

Recommended Posts

I have lost about 75 pounds from my heaviest and still have 70 more to loose.

I know i'm gonna have a lot of hanging skin so i was wondering if anyone else on here has ever done it or has considered it.

Hey Crimson -

I have lost 100 pounds & just recently looked into a Tummy Tuck. I am still thinking about it. It is a pretty major procedure. The incision goes across your waist line, just below your normal underware line - from hip to hip. The surgeon explained that the recovery takes awhile and can be very painful since they are going through abdominal muscles. Basically they make the incision, reach in and pull the skin down from your chest to make it tighter. Then pull skin up from the area above your man-parts to make that flatter. then stitch it back up, and cut away the excess.

*

I am hesitant due to the large scar, and a 2 month painful recovery time. So, I haven't decided yet. The only benefit is that my surgeon said that by flattening things out and removing excess skin from above my man-parts, I could expect my penis to be 1-2 inches longer. Hey - nothing wrong with that!!

*

Hope this helps

When i chatted with my Doc He said to wait until i had got to my goal weight and then decide. He said that most people on their way to goal think about it but that only 30% go through with it due to the size of the operation and the possible complications after the operation. He said 20% of people regret having it.

It all boils down to your self esteem/age/skin elasticity and if you want another op with months of recovery? There are some that recover quick while others dont.

Check out Tummy tuck: is it worth it? Cost & results from 281 reviews, it has some pictures and some not so nice pictures of TT's that went well and those that didnt.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
