too sad to post earlier

So I was schedualed for surgery tomorrow, I was all ready with a babysitter, time off work, passport, money in the bank. The only thing I had waited on was my plane ticket because I just wanted to make sure EVERYthing was going to go without a hitch before I bought the ticket. So a week ago today I go to get my plain ticket and EVERY SINGLE seat is sold out (they only do one flight per day to Monterrey MX). I looked at other airlines and those seats were over 1200 for a flight vrs the 500 for the airline I was using and the other airlines also only had red eyes that had four hour lay overs along the way. So I had to post pone my surgery. The next week that I can get a babysitter and time off work and everything is on the 9th of July. =( I was really sad for the last week but Im starting to get it in perspective. Its just a few weeks. And if ya'll dont mind Im going to stay here in the June Journey's group. I guess Ill be the grand finale.

* GASP * I'm so sorry!! That would be dissapointing. But you know...I just got one of those forwarded emails that was saying how there are so many people alive who worked in the Twin Towers on 9/11 because of something that pissed them off at the time. Like one person was late because they were caught in traffic, one person missed their cab, one had to take their kid to school cause he missed the bus, etc.

The moral of the story is, sometimes God puts you exactly where you NEED to be. So yeah it sucks that you couldn't get out when you planned, but perhaps it's for a good reason.

I'm glad you're staying in the June group, just because you got postponed doesn't make you any less of a journey! (cheesy, I know...I'm good at it) :blushing::w00t:

Sorry this happened! All I can say is it is just a little bump in the road, and sooner then later you will be in band land. Use the extra time to prepare with post op products, venture around this site, and relax a little. Good luck to you!

I'm sorry to hear that :) Something similar happened to me - I was supposed to be banded June 11th and I had to postpone to the following week (June 18th). Its a long story why it happened (it's here in my blog: Violinist With A Band). Anyways, I was also really sad. Especially because at first my doc was talking about postponing the surgery for two weeks. But yes, just look at it as a small blip in a lifelong journey. Because of the delay in my surgery, after I got over the initial disappointment, I felt okay with it because it gave me extra time to do the pre-op diet, thus ensuring that I would not have any complications with my liver. I also lost an extra 5 pounds during the third extra week, so I was 20 pounds down by surgery which was also a positive. It will make you feel better to compile a list of positive things that will come of having a later surgery date. Good luck with your surgery!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
