Quick fill question please ladies and gents>>

Recommended Posts

Filled on the 21st of May to 5.5cc total. First week and a half after the fill, was basically able to eat whatever, and didn't seem like much of a fill and was thinking about calling for another one..

So then just this past week while traveling, it is like something friggin' kicked in. Can not eat more than 4oz, def. feel the sternum discomfort if I eat too fast or too much, crazy tight in the morning....

So my question is: What the Hell happened between the two weeks and this week? Did my band just wake up one day and think "well, shit... I guess I'll start working!"?

Steve

Did you fly? If you did, that's what happened to my daughter. She had to get an unfill while she was visiting me it was so tight.

My doc told me to expect band tightness after flying, air pressure, and also the week before my monthly visit (trying to put that sweetly)

wow- that's interesting, I never heard that before. I wonder if you have to get a bit of an unfill, or if it just goes down by itself over time. . .

My Dr. said it usually loosens up after you land within a few hours.. Hers just got tighter. She had a fill a few days before the flight. I just know that if I'm planning on flying I wont be getting a fill before I go.

I'm trying to think this one thru and I would say the cabin pressure could cause it. I used to have a problem with my ankles swelling up and even my hands during flights...I don't know why your stomach wouldn't swell either. An unfill is something to definitely consider if you're flying. I'd hate to go on vacation and be miserable.

When I went to Europe it took about 2 weeks before the swelling in my ankles went away. So I'm guessing it will go down with time, just not maybe immediately.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
