O.k. Maybe it's just me, but has anyone else had increased mood swings and attitudes?

I understand that we're all going through changes when it comes down to neutrition and restricting and we're not giving our bodies what they are used to but I've found in especially in the last 3 days I have been snapping the F*ck out on everyone in my path...... is anyone else?

P.S- In between all of that, I've been emotional too.... And it's not P.M.S!

I went through a couple months of that too. It is a combination of change in diet and the fact that we can no longer turn to food to satisfy our emotions. I highly recommend a supplement called SAM-e...DH calls them my happy pills. I only had to take them for a while but they worked very well to put things in balance.

When females lose weight they have hormone flux, the reason is that we store estrogen in our fat, as that fat melts, the estrogen hits our bodies and causes some of this problem. So hang in there. It popped me right ouf of menopause... I thought I was done. LOL

Johnsonsnickers, you beat me to it! I actually had less cramps this month, and I'm wondering if it's the hormones from my melting fat, or the fact that I weigh less, or both!

My poor bf, he's in for a treat if I get crazy because of hormones. Hehe.

Hmmm, this is interesting. I never thought of where the stored estrogen will go when the fat melts. I don't think I have experienced mood swings but my husband and son would probably say otherwise! They have mentioned on a few occasions 'Have you been taking your anti-depressants?' Oh well!

Thanks guys!!! I was actually thinking of this before when a Severe case of road rage almost set in. Oh, and went to the "girl doc" yesterday, she said that getting your period 2 times in a month (I got it again 2 days after I was banded) is because of A) The rapid weight loss due to my diet, and  from everything being rearranged on your insides.

I found this on Google before.... it's kind of scary.

Lap-Band patients are advised to consume fifty to sixty grams of Protein daily to avoid protein deficiency. Protein deficiency causes Hair loss, fatigue, edema, muscle weakness, and a delay in wound healing. A lack of adequate protein may also lead to depression, anxiety, irritability, apathy, and other mental health conditions, as well as cause a number of physical health issues from gallstones to colds, headaches, low blood pressure, anemia, irregular hear rates, and, in extreme cases, death. A lab can measure the amount of protein in your blood by performing a serum albumin blood test.

Sarah, I've been going through the same thing! Oh gosh, it's been horrible. My sister is ready to move out of our home, I think, lol. And my poor boyfriend, he's been the biggest victim. It's bad. I've been so damn moody, and it's not pms for me either. I hope it fades soon because otherwise I feel good!

My fiance has had it, My Job is questioning my concentration ability, and I'm moodshifting faster then a Lion on a gazelle. I was a cranky bitch yesterday and today I'm depressed, I haven't been like this since I was pregnant. Like right at this Very moment I either want to kick the shit out of someone or curl up into the fetal position and cry... I'm so confused

WOW, I would so hate for that to happen! I had a much harder than usual month hormonal swing ( I had a hysterectomy so no warning for us). So I kinda feel your pain. I usually don't have that bad a time b/c they took an ovary.

I do know that not being able to turn to food, worrying over every gain ( Water or not) is going to wear me down soon. Hopefully after a few fills I will chill out.

Hopefully my friends will learn to roll with it and not walk out the door ( one did already sigh).

Aw, well just try to hang in there sweetie, I know it will get better. We have so much to adjust to, it's only normal. I know it's so hard, I didn't think I was even going to be able to make it out of bed this morning. The thought of coming to work made me want to vomit. I had the moodshift too. Friday I was on a complete warpath and told my bf I didn't want to be with him anymore, thankfully he knew I wasn't serious and didn't get mad. But then the last couple days, I've just been depressed and super sad. It has to look up for us soon. Just try to relax and take as much time for yourself as you can. Maybe get a massage or a mani/pedi, something that will soothe you a little.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
