Feb ?09, 3 months out and loving it!!!

Recommended Posts

Well folks, we made it:thumbup:. Who would have thought 3 months ago that we would have made it to where we are today? I hope everyone is doing great and is happy with their progress so far. I couldn’t be happier:biggrin:. I am on my second fill and am down over 60 pounds (BMI is now under 30). I’m not done, but I definitely see a light at the end of the tunnel. I am fitting into clothes I haven’t worn in years, people are really noticing the weight loss, and unlike any diet in the past I feel satisfied (from a hunger perspective) most of the time. I feel like I am really starting to know how to interact with the band inside me.

How are you doing?

I'm very jealous of that, I have yet to have my first fill. My port flipped, so I had it removed and replaced. I go for my first fill, I hope, in 10 days. I'm so happy that everyone else seems to be doing well.

Wow! So sorry to hear that. Is that even common? What did the doctor say about it? Glad they were able to fix it and I’m sure you will get on track now that everything is situated right.

Congrats! You are doing great.

I too feel happier than ever! This is a remarkable tool.

Good Luck and Take Care,

I was also banded in February and am down 70lbs! I have had two fills but they really have not helped yet. My third fill is this week and hopefully I will be able to rely on a little more help then just willpower!

I went through my closet yesterday and realized I bypassed alot of clothes. I am thrilled that I have passed my half way point and can't wait to get down to my weight.

I have not been this low since early 1994 and people are starting to notice.

As for missing foods, yes I do miss some favorites but I don't really deisre to eat them anymore. My desire is to lose weight now

Good luck to us all

Nope, pretty rare overall, and amazingly rare this soon. But I've always had truely crap-tacular luck, like shattering my knee in a particularly bad and unusual way, 10 days prior to my scheduled surgery, which then had to be post poned.

Ah, well, if I have to fight harder for it, maybe it'll mean more to me. At least that's what I'm trying to convince myself.

Well, if you do as with weight loss after surgery as you did before you should do great.

Hope the re-do went ok:thumbup:

Its great to hear everyone is doing so well. I am down 51lbs and I have to say I feel great, I LOVE buying new clothes, and people are really starting to notice the changes. I have had four fills since the surgery (not counting the first fill they put the band in with) and the last one I think I have hit my limit so I am hoping my weight loss will speed up a bit from here.

I am glad that all Feb. Bansters are doing well. I am sorry to say that I must be the statistic for not working. I have had three fills. I am at the max as far as the amount. Now that I still have no restriction, I have to have another surgery to see what is going on. Something about a phantom band. Whatever, i think more that they don't really know. I am waiting on insurance so that they can redo it. I am still down 30 pounds, but working my butt off to stay here. Keep up the good work. It gives me hope that eventually mine will work for me.

I had my band put in feb 9 th, 2009 and have gone from 325 pounds to 200 pounds ...Recently I gained 20 pounds back and have found myself to get sick 4 outta 5 times I eat now....Been trying to identify suspect foods....Pretty much the only kind of meat I eat is fish, no beef or chicken.....I haven't drank any milk for over a year now...just use almond milk...

I worked out the first 3 years of my band being put in...Last 2 years I've limited my exercise. I'm wondering because of my weight gain if I have tightened the band too much ? Anyways, by not being able to keep anything down , I believe I may fix the problem soon . Has anyone else experienced the inability to not keep anything down? I would like to be able to eat again and am grateful when I can.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
