Katerzz's NSV of the day:

When your nurse whos giving you an unfill tells you its time to retire my pants. She tells me, "they are wayyyy to big on you i cant believe you can keep them up"

(btw.. the pants.. i love them they are black silky pants that ive had for years Granted, almost 70 lbs later.. well ya you get the picture)

HAHAHAHA I'm loving it... (i think the fresh Water is going to my head after that unfill)

Good one! I'll be hanging on to my dear old trusties for a long time. They stay up! I know they are too big...theyr'e just so comfy!!! I've got 'em in black and silky, black and stretchy thin cotton, black and a cotton knit. Love 'em. But hate 'em, too. Just can't seem to give them up.

Good for you!!!

LOL .. Fantastic, katerzz.

I bought a pair of jeans a few weeks before surgery. Loved them to bits! I shrank and when they didn't (even after sticking them in the drier), so I went and got a pair one size smaller. Same thing happened with those, then another, etc.

I've now owned these jeans in a 22, 20, 18, 16 and now, a 14. It's a plus sized store, so they don't go any smaller than that :( lol, I'm gonna be so sad when I have to give them up.

Luckily, I've still got my favorite sweatpants with drawstrings that I'll always be able to wear.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
