Anyone banded by Dr. Provost in Denton

Recommended Posts

I am fixing to get banded soon. I was wondering if anyone has used Dr. Provost in Denton or Dallas area. I just want to know what you think of him and his staff.

Has anyone had any bad experiences or just all good. Let me know.

I am so sorry I didn't find your post earlier. I am using Dr. Provost, and I think he is wonderful. I first saw him a couple of years ago in Dallas, and I saw him in February of this year. I don't know his office help very well, but I do know about Dr. Provost. You could not ask for a better surgeon. He's been voted 1 of the best docs in TX every year for a long time now. My PCP here in Amarillo knows him and think he's the best there is. I did a lot of research on different doctors before I chose him. When he was at UT Southwestern in Dallas, he was the head of the bariatric practice, so I trust him totally. I have read a post from someone else who said they didn't like his insurance person nor his nurse, but I have barely met both of them. I hope this helps you.

Joan

Thank you soooo much for the info. I am waiting for the approval from Aetna right now. So we will wait and see.

Dr. Provost is a wonderful doctor and I would recommend him to anyone. HOWEVER, his staff is Awful! After 8 months of the run around with them, I finally had to go to a different surgeon. What they couldn't seem to get together has taken the new Doctor's staff less than 2 weeks to accomplish and I am scheduled for the 1st week of December.

Tdtucker...

I am so sorry that you had bad luck with Dr. Provost. I am so very happy with them. They always treat me with respect, and always happy to see me. I think I would talk to the office manager and let someone know.

Allison

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
