Hello Amceache,

I was banded on the 9th, I too experienced horrible hunger pains. Anytime you need someone to talk to about your new adventure weight loss journey, I am here. Please do not hesitate to email me. keesee@windstream.net

Like you, I think it is nice to know others understand how you are feeling.

I had my surgery done in Mexico, because I could not afford to self pay here in the US.

I have started a few solids, going by the sheet the doctor gave me, and it is much better now beginning the 2nd week. Just hang in there and do exactly what your doctor says, so you will not have problems later, and your tummy can heal quicker.

Wish You The Best,

LivinWithFaith/KY

Hi all! I was banded on April 8th, and I too have been crazy hungry. I don't have much good advice to share, but sometimes it seems to help knowing that we aren't alone on this journey. I go back to the Dr. next Tuesday, so am I anxious to hear if I can move on to the soft food stage. Do you think I will get a fill then? Right now I was told only liquids and pureed food. Yuck-o. I am going to get some sugar free popscicles. I think that will help. Good luck to all of you!

Hello gamassagegirl:

Good to hear from you! I have been real busy with college work. I would love to talk to people more, but I lead a pretty busy life. I will try to check in every 3 days or so and see how everyone is doing.

Talk about shoulder pain, about 3 days ago, I thought I was going to die, it hurt so bad. The pain medicine helped me make it through. Hopefully, that is the end of that:)

I have lost 9 lbs in 7 days!!!

Isn't it great to hear about everyone's continued success, IT is so MOTIVATING!!!

Keep in Touch and Congratulation on Your SUCCESS!!!

Hey, How's everyone doing? I'm doing great, seems my shoulder pain is much better, gas is pretty much gone, dropped 14lbs in a week (AMAZING) Dr. seemed fine with that at my post op check up yesterday! Said everything looked great! I can really tell a difference in some of my clothes and DEFINITELY in my energy level. I am now enjoying creamy Soups and puddings instead of liquids (the beef broth was a pleasant change to the chicken if any one is getting burnt out on chicken!) Please let me know how you all are!

Got banded on April 9th. Between the week preop diet and a few days after surgery I'd lost 19 pounds. A week after surgery I ended up with a blood clot in my right lung though so back in the hospital I went. Home now and on blood thinners and doing better. I've gone up a few pounds though - but I'm sure it's Water. All the stress has screwed up my monthly cycle and I'm pretty sure that's it. Very annoying though.

But on mushies now - yay! - and looking for some good ideas on what to have.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
