Ok so I see a lot of people talk about sliming, and I honestly don't know what to think or have any ideas about what it is, but please someone spell it out for the blonde   and what do you do about it, how do you handle it?

You'll know it if you do it. Tons of saliva, some of it sort of foamy. happens when you have a really bad stuck episode. And it's often the harbinger of a PB -- which is when whatever is stuck pretty forcefully comes back up. Not vomiting, but all that saliva is paving the way for it to come up easily. You can't stop it, all you can do is spit, and wait for the stuck food to go down or come back up.

Well, I have experienced two versions of it, though from my reading here there are other versions as well.

Version 1 - My Take Anyway

Due to swelling or overeating your new stomach cannot pass the food/liquid that you have just taken in, and you BURP it back up. For me the precursor was hiccups. My first few days after surgery I was not able to keep anything down, even small sips of Water or liquid meds.

Version 2 - From My Reading Here

Due to overeating, or trying something that your new stomach will not tolerate - I hear pretzels are a big no no - you burp that back up accompanied with any stomach fluids that are present.

Version 3 - Something Else I Noticed

I put in this in the same category - the over abundance of saliva. I believe this is produced because your stomach is full and you esophagus has something in it that is being processed but it it slow. You don't bring it back up but your mouth just waters. I equate this with that rush of saliva that hits your mouth right before you vomit (yeah, I know you all know what I mean).

Ok well these answers make a lot more sense. I assume is pretty common since a lot of people have mentioned it. Is this where the papaya enzyme would come in handy?

Now where can I find papaya enzyme and how will I know its working?

Sorry for the bizzarre question but I used to know someone who swore by these too and do not remember where they got them.

I just had my second unfill today because I haven't been able to keep fluids down for weeks and was afraid of becoming dehydrated...lost too much weight (17.lbs)last month and am needing to get some fluids in me.

Also has anyone ever had a malabsorption lab done?

Just want to have a healthy weight loss journey!

As soon as I saw a few postings people swearing by the stuff I went out and got mine, I got it at Walmart it was $4 for a bottle of like 50 of them. I just gotta figure out how many to take and when. I haven't had any issues yet, but as far as I can tell i have no restriction yet either.

Papaya enzyme can help break up a "stuck" bit of food by speeding the digestive action.

Cherf, why would any of us need a "malabsorption lab" done? Our intestines haven't been bypassed like a GB patient, so our ability to absorb nutrients has not been altered. A little confused here.

I went in for a unfill bc I haven't been able to drink/keep down liquids and the doctor ordered a malabsorption?

Im asking if anyone knows why and has had to do this too.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
