Well all doctors do it differently. My doctor has me lay back, they give me a shot of local anestatic and then after that they do the fill. I feel nothing and I am a major needle phobe.

They probably won't fill you very much so you probably won't have much restriction although you will feel fuller a little faster.

You may or may not even get a fill. More than one person has posted that their doctor said their weight loss exceeded the average and that as long as they are losing they do not need a fill. But your weight loss is fantastic!!! Congratulations!

im not that hungry anymore, and had my 1st fill done on the 3/31. I don't feel any difference, and i still can eat 3-4oz of food. I thought i would be able to handle the needle for the fill bc i used to give myself insulin shots but the needle is bigger and it hurt like heck. But the doctor said it was still a little tender and it will get better as time passes. Oh, and i dropped another 5lbs.

I eat more than 3-4oz of foods, my meat is between 4 - 5oz on its own, then i will have dessert spoon of mashed potatoes with mixed vegetables... but way smaller portions than i used to eat before being banded, I consume between 800-900 calories a day

I go to the gym 3-5 times a week & swim too

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
