Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor I am Ready for my new Life

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am 48 years old a grandmother of 4, 3 girls and 1 boy...I adore all of them. I enjoy the outdoors (although the weight has kept me from being active for the last 6 or more years) I am really anxious to get my new life started and really need someone who has been there someone who wants to help me get through this next year. My first real issue is diarrhea, this is driving me crazy...I am 12 days out and still having this issue...the nutritionist just kinda of laughed and said...that happens. I saw a thread where someone suggested Immodium, that's sounds like a good idea, anyone else agree.

Hi there, sorry to hear about your problem.. I see you posted this thread over a week ago and no one responded.. I think it's a good idea to check into one of the sights for age specific or weight specific groups. Just read some of the ones that have lost of posts and pages and find one with people who sound nice to you.. I did that and have found a good one... It's sometimes hard to start a new one... Just find one and jump in and introduce yourself... You'll be amazed at how friendly and willing to help people are... Now that I've been at this for a while I usually only go to a couple threads where I have found a home... Try it out... I hope your problem is better by this time.. Next you will get introduces to constipation.. That's the one I hate!!! Take care and best of luck on your journey...

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
