March 26th....where are my band twins???

Recommended Posts

I was banded on the 26th and things went well. I was pretty sore immediately after waking up from surgery but they gave me something for that and I felt better. Friday (yesterday) was the worst for me. I was at my most sore. But today I'm better. I'm not bouncing out of bed yet or anything but I'm up and around.

The liquid diet isn't much of an issue for me because it's exactly what it has been for the last 2 weeks. I am finding it hard though to take in near the amount of fluids I was preop. We'll see how it goes as time passes.

I hope you guys are doing alright as well. Take care.

So it's day 6.....

How is everyone feeling....as for me gas pain hit on day 4.....now I am sitting at my desk @ wrk hugging my heating pad....and I guess the best way to descirbe the hungery pains I feel is to compare them to being in labor, they are very intense cramps that last 20-30 secs (almost take my breath away) and come anywhere from 10 to 30 mins apart (most of the time).

I know this is just part of Bandster Hell and that it will pass....all I can say is God I hope it passes soon!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
