I am recently banded (7/7) and am looking for others who are on this journey. My surgeons support group is in Edmonds and would really like to get together with other local bandsters for support and guidance locally...

Anyone?

Kathleen

Yes there are Bellingham (WA) Bandsters. I was banded on 5/20/05 and there were four other Bandsters who I met this past Wed up at the Bellisfare Mall food Court. I think they meet every second Wednesday of the month. I plan on attending regularly as it is really nice to talk to people who know exactly what you are going through. Welcome aboard and hope to see you!

Hi

My daugther and I were banded last year 8-3-04. Than my other daughter was banded 6-8-05. All were done in Mexico. Two of us in PV and one in TJ. We all live in Bellingham and would like to meet with the bandters and have that support.

I went down to Arlington today for a fill with a nurse who does fills and her name is Kitty. She did a fine job on the fill. I liked her very much and her and her assistant were very nice. It sure bets going all the way to Tacoma but I do like my doctors at the SWLC.

Hi Kathleen,

I am from Lynden and getting banded on July 8th!!!! Yeah!! I would love to chat sometime, especially since I am telling very few people that I am doing this. I'll be sending you many "happy" thoughts for this journey. Plus I would love to know who is going to do your fills. I recently heard they were starting to do the surgery in B-ham. Had you heard that too???? Good luck with everything. Have a great day!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
