Dry Roasted Edamame

Recommended Posts

I went to my support group and for the first time and they all started talking about Dry Roasted Edamame. Ofcourse I had to ask what the heck they were talking about, because I never heard of such a thing.

The group filled me in on their little secret and I drove over to the store to get my own.

Over all I have to say I've very pleased with this product. Very healthy product and seems to keep me from not being hungry for long periods of time.

Warning: Eat this stuff very slow, its easy to get over full.

Here is a link to the manufactures web site.

Seapoint Farms

Hope this helps someone else as much as it has helped me.

Thanks for the tip. It looks like a lot of stores carry it, but I'd never heard of it before. 1/4 cup has 130 cals, 4 grams fat, 8 grams of Fiber, 14 grams of Protein, and 10 grams of carbs. It sounds like it's a good filling snack, with a nice kick of fiber and protein.

They put those on the table at a restaurant here--much like they put chips on the table at a Mexican place. They are put a sprinkle of sea salt on them. they are good!

They are soybeans. Good for you, too. They're high in Protein, antioxidants, and natural estrogens.

Thanks! I always wondered where I could buy it dry

roasted. I put it in my salad at the salad bars. It's supposed to be really good for us.

I was in Kroger's today, and I bought a bag. They were in the health food section snack aisle. Thanks again for tip. I've always loved fresh edamame, but these will be great for a quick snack, especially in the car.

I eat these too. I've used them to replace my craving for potato chips. It works some of the time.. lol! I've never had Edamame fresh/frozen, how do you prepare it?

The best freshly cooked edamame I've eaten, warm in the pod and lightly salted, is served in sushi restaurants. I believe they steam it, but I'm not certain.

My grocery store carries it in their sushi section, and you just microwave to heat. I season with a little sea salt. You kind of suck the Beans right out of the pod. My kids love this too.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
