32 single mother of one in Arkansas

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was banded on 3/31/08 by Dr. Jones in Jonesboro, AR. I've gone from 270 lbs to 237 lbs currently. I want to make contact with someone in the Wynne, AR, Jonesboro, AR area for support while going through this transformation. I've lost 40 lbs but gain 15 lbs back now starting to lose again.

Thanks!

Hi Mae! Sorry I am not in your neck of the woods but there are lots of people on this board so I am sure someone out there is. I would also check with your surgeon's office to see if they have a support group. Most of them do!

Hi,

I live in Marion, AR, but I lived in Wynne until I was 12. I'm 30 years old and also have one child. I was banded 3/6/09. I'd love to chat with you any time.

Thanks! I would like to keep in contact. Still living in Wynne at this time, traveling through Marion everyone working day to work in Memphis. Still hanging in there, get back on track after a long vacation (hehehe) not funny but funny at the same time.

Wow! You drive a long way to work then if you come from Wynne to Memphis. I work in Memphis too, but don't have near the drive you do.

Nice to meet you. Do keep in touch.

Hey guys! I recently got banded (again) and will get my first fill tomorrow. I would love to hear any progress you have made. I had the band several years ago, but had it removed in 2007. I kinda forgot how it was when I first got the band. I am a 32 tear old, married mother of 2. I live in Little Rock, but I'm always in the area (well towards West Memphis and Memphis). Keep me posted!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
