Wow, looking at your numbers, you have done fantastic since your surgery. I would like to join you in your March Madness Challenge. I think by March 31st, I can lose 25 pounds. It might be a bit ambitious but I think it is doable if I stay the course.

Fran, Welcome to the challenge.. I am sure you will be successful in your loss.. I think most of my loss has been luck ha ha now the real work begins.. Although my doctor tells me it should never be hard.. It may be work, but not hard.. I am getting ready to go in for my 3 month f/u appt and hope to be down a few more lbs.. I am looking forward to this weight-loss challenge.. I am hoping it will help me be successful at reaching my goal :huh2: I just bought and elliptical and treadmill so I am hoping that will help me get on the exercise band wagon again..I fell off in Dec when my grandfather passed away and I have just had a heck of a time getting back into my routine.. Well hope this helps.. I am glad you have joined me :glare: We will do fantastic !!

well I made it to 86 lbs lost.. it was a tough few months.. I sprained my foot, had siatic nerve issues, and blisters on my toes from walking so much.. All put me out of the exercise commission for a little bit.. AMAZING how that stuff happens when you have a goal ha ha.. ANYWAYS.. I was only 14lbs away from my goal not to shabby I will take it  I am still working though. I wanna hit the 100 lbs mark ASAP :cool2: and then will set a new mini goal.. i hope everyone else is doing well

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
